Head - Urban Governance - NGO

S/he would possess : 

1. Unlimited passion for transforming our cities over the long-term, particularly in the areas of citizen participation in neighbourhoods and civic leadership

2. Deep domain experience in communications and marketing, large-scale campaigns

3. Experience and ability to lead teams and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team that includes coders, community mobilisers, data analysts and communication & content resources

4. Excellent project management capabilities with a sharp focus on delivery and execution

5. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage with external stakeholders like civil society, government and donors, and internally work with the CEO and board

6. The nuance to identify partnership opportunities and the perseverance to convert, nurture and scale them

7. Strong budgeting and financial management experience

8. Skills to nurture and grow talent, and invest in their leadership capabilities

S/he would : 

1. Gain a deep understanding of the principles, philosophy and nuances of citizen participation in relation to the products, platforms and tools we have built

2. Strengthen program strategy and the medium to long term project plans and outcomes in discussions with the team and the management

3. Conceive and run campaigns across communication and engagement channels on contemporary themes to accomplish the mission of Janaagraha's citizenship programs

4. Manage the senior resources anchoring the community engagement and civic technology strands

5. Assess all work strands and determine RoI and priorities to ensure greater focus on delivery by the team

6. Draw up detailed campaign and project plans and instil strong review and course correction mechanisms with senior resources in the team

7. In close coordination with the Development team continually review and maintain oversight on budgets and funding gaps and plans to raise additional resources

8. Ensure timely donor reporting, and communications internally and to donors

9. Meet with senior leaders in civil society, industry, academia and governments with partnership proposals

10. Be a spokesperson for civic participation at convenings of corporate employees, college youth and neighbourhood communities and other fora

Qualifications and Experience : 

A degree in Management, Technology or Finance with deep domain experience in communications, consumer technology, and/or marketing and with sufficient senior management experience in a 15-20 year career
