Role Summary
- The candidate will be expected to lead Treasury function for managing day-to-day operations and achieving transformation mandates from management.
- The candidate will be expected to have very strong communication skills and confidence to interact with Senior Management
- The candidate will be expected to coach/ mentor junior team members to ensure efficient management of treasury function whilst also enabling their career development
- The position is based out of Mumbai and the candidate must be open to travel domestically and internationally.
Role KPI's :
- Formulate an effective hedging strategy to minimize the currency fluctuation and interest rate risk for the company
- Oversee Purchase and Sale of Currencies and Derivatives for forward cover of foreign exchange exposure
- Strengthen Control environment by ensuring a strong Risk and Control framework is in place and operating effectively.
- Minimize the cost of hedging by taking hedges in a timely manner.
- Capture positive movements in the currency rates to further reduce costs.
- Manage banking forex relationships and negotiate best rates for the business
- Support in managing other banking relationships for liquidity management and other treasury funding related activities
- Review amendments in the Foreign exchange risk management framework as and when deemed necessary.
- Ensure that the work is in accordance with established professional standards and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into the function
- Ensure that the corrective actions of all audits and regulatory findings are tracked and appropriately remediated in a consistent manner.
- Review effectiveness of hedge activity undertaken and present the same to the risk officer.
- Protect the budgeted business margins by reducing the impact of market movements on the Balance Sheet and P&L Account.
- Ensure that adequate resources are available to the Treasury in terms of manpower, technology etc.
- Clear visibility of budgeted and anticipated forex requirement across the organisation.
- Building strong relationships with external stakeholders.
- Responsiveness to changes in market conditions.
Key skills and qualifications
- CA / MBA (Finance) from a Tier 1 institute or engineers from IITs with at 12-15 years of post qualification experience in heading the treasury function of a large Indian corporate having multi geography presences.
- Strong understanding of corporate treasury operations and financial products
- Well-versed in the concepts of foreign exchange risk management, interest rate risk management, Cash and liquidity management, borrowings management and investments management.
- Understanding of Spot and Derivative market operations for interest rates and foreign exchange products including risk management (hedging strategies) and valuation aspects of the same
- Experience of managing exposures and hedging of multiple currencies pairs including G7 and emerging economy's currencies
- Well connected with host of Indian and foreign banks would be must for this position
- Experience of setting up cash pooling/ cash sweeping and any other efficient cash management structure at a global/ regional level would be added advantage
- Experience of raising short term and long-term funding (domestically and internationally) through various structures from banks/ investors
- Prior experience of setting up/ monitoring of central treasury or regional treasury by considering business requirements for efficient management of cash and liquidity and risk management.
- Understanding of various TMS available for Corporate Treasuries including Kyriba, FIS Quantum/ Integrity, etc.
