Head - Taxation - IT (15-25 yrs)

Job Objective :

The Global Tax Head is responsible for optimal tax planning, compliance, audit, assessments and litigation for the organization by working with a global network of experts to ensure compliance and strong central control over tax policies and procedures for the organization.

Key Responsibility Areas :

1. Tax Planning :

- Responsible for annual tax planning to identify tax optimization opportunities and determine policy towards areas where advance planning is required

- Guide and monitor smooth and efficient functioning of the tax department. Identify opportunities for process improvement, streamlining and automation

- Ensure optimal and timely tax planning, compliance and inputs at the beginning of each significant strategic project or transaction

- Anticipate future challenges and tax risks, and ensure corrective actions planning is in place to gain control and assurance over potential global tax risks, tax reputation by working with own team, consultants and experts as required

- Oversee Legal entity structuring from a tax incidence/ impact perspective

- Provide guidance on effective management of deferred tax and improving availment of tax credit for indirect taxes

2. Tax Compliance :

- Ensure monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual filing of returns, its conformance to guidelines and policies for the organisation

- Own and manage ongoing governance, tax policy, procedures and standards within local and foreign corporate tax as well as the preparation of tax in the financial accounts and indirect taxes

- Ensure that all activities comply with the statutory / regulatory requirements

- Act as the expert advisor for SSC Tax and all compliance related matters

- Oversee and Sign off computation of Income Tax and Dividend distribution tax for the organisation

- Manage relationship with tax authorities and tax partners

3. Transfer Pricing :

- Ensure effective transfer pricing strategies for all geo's with special focus on emerging entities/developing countries

- Ensure tax rates for intercompany transfers are in conformance with tax laws

- Review transfer pricing data analysis drawn from global data (region wise) and address foreseen risks

4. Audit, Assessment and Litigation :

- Ensure smooth and timely conduct of Direct Tax and Indirect Tax audits and liaise with tax authorities for audit assessments as applicable

- Ensure assessments are closed in timely manner

- Ensure filing is in place for appeals and proceeding with litigation wherever required and ensure it upholds the organisation interest

- Monitor and ensure timely response to notices from the tax authorities and manage tax litigations with support from tax consultants, SSC and legal department

5. Revenue Accounting :

- Work with VBUs/HBUS and Business Finance to ensure accurate and timely accounting and recognition of revenue

- Ensure timely raising of invoices as per projections on billing

6. People Management (Performance, Training, Recruitment, Knowledge) :

- Manage performance, careers and appraisals for the immediate teams

- Identify and cascade goals to team members and periodical reviews

- Own operating plans globally for the aligned teams

- Forecast resource requirements and participate in recruitment activities

- Create an environment that encourages employee motivation & retention, high levels of employee engagement and ensures employee satisfaction
