JOB DESCRIPTION- HEAD SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Job title Head Supply Chain Management

Reports to CEO

Job purpose

Direct, manage and oversee logistics, warehouse and transportation activities. Lead and direct strategic planning for logistics.

Criteria

- Strong knowledge of shipping, Air and surface transportation and inventory/warehouse management - specifically who have done rare negotiation with shipping lines, Transporters, airlines

- In- depth exposure of Air/Ocean / Rail / Logistics - Overall understanding of process excellence, and continuous improvement - End to end cost management and control - Contract management, supplier management, insurance.

Role and Responsibilities

- Develop strategy and lead the Supply Chain Planning, Scheduling and Logistics components of the Company's Business

- Manage end to end supply from Tea estates to a warehouse and to the clients

- Develop analytics, systems and data management capabilities, including metrics and reports - Understand, define, develop & implement logistics processes with a focus on air, sea, rail routes

- Establish policies and standard work procedures in inventory, delivery, distribution, and customer services

- Monitor conformance of practices against company policies and standard work procedures

- Ensure effective management of inventory and assets in relation to business profitability

- Manage logistics contracts; ensure quality delivery performance with cost consciousness and provide input and support within contract negotiations

- Communicate across all internal and external business partners to identify cost drivers and identify the most efficient processes and procedures across the organization and optimize crossdepartmental interaction regarding logistics activities.

- Work with external vendors to establish Supply Chain solutions and partnerships including service levels agreements. - Evaluate logistics related opportunities and design, create and implement solutions with established metrics programs to measure performance

- Solve problems by considering courses of action within the framework of management goals and standards - Cost Control and contract management, negotiations - focus on end to end cost management

- Optimize deliveries by planning efficient and cost-effective routes.

- Align with Managements budget and service goals.

- Stay updated on the transportation management systems abilities and shortcomings

- Conduct meetings to ensure that team goals and projects are achieved according to established guidelines, procedures and policies.

- Externally benchmark the latest trends, new developments and drive technology and process compliance in the logistics eco-system

- Monitor Team, Talent management, development and coaching of the team and attract and retain talent

- Liasoning with heads of respective functions and vendors on case to case basis for urgent and emergency matters.

- Providing various inputs for MIS & other reports as per requirements.

- Update self and the Management about the ongoing developments from the Logistics front at all times.

- Attend meeting with Shipping Lines, Transporters, Rail Operators, other vendors & interdepartmental in-house/outdoor and visit to various ICDs, Rail Operators, branch offices, factories, Customs, Port for shipment related matters.

Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Business or Supply chain Management or Transportation/Logistics Management

Experience

- Minimum of 15 years senior level management experience within logistics planning & management Skill Sets

- Proficient in standard business office software

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- a Strategic thinker with extensive business network

- Excellent organizing, problem-solving, and people development attributes
