Head - Supply Chain Management - Building Materials Industry (15-22 yrs)

Leading brand in the building materials industry


1. Procurement Planning Process:

- Keep track of the procurement planning process and ensure continuous improvement.

- Oversee the strategic initiatives to manage inventory levels and supply risk.

- Monitor the segmenting exercise for the complete Raw Material Portfolio.

- Participate in the monthly supply planning meeting along with Sales and Procurement function.

- Keep track of the strategic initiatives for minimizing Stock outs (Bases Papers and Boards).

- Oversee the strategic initiatives to minimize Non-Moving and Slow-Moving stocks and identify effective ways to cross-utilize, dispose, discard, salvage these stocks.

- Monitor functional KPIs and extend support & guidance to avoid any operational lapses.

- Overview actions to ensure high compliance of external audits.

2. Procurement and Sourcing Processes:

- Oversee the Annual Procurement Budget prepared in line with the Finance guidelines.

- Ensure bottom-line profitability is achieved by implementing various cost savings initiatives.

- As a member of the Procurement Committee, participate in Management Meeting for taking various strategic decisions and implement innovative sourcing strategies.

- Keep track of the long-term objectives on source pool management to effectively deliver organization objectives on cost, quality, service, value & sustainability.

- Monitor functional KPIs and extend support & guidance to avoid any operational lapses.

- Oversee adherence with corporate Part Approval Process (MPAP) which is applicable for introduction of any New Part / Product / Supplier.

- Monitor compliance to corporate Procurement Policy document.

3. Material Management and Logistics Processes:

- Monitor the stock availability for all Raw Material as per the defined norms.

- Oversee inventory classification of items.

- Monitor initiatives to improve inventory accuracy gets implemented across plants.

- Keep track of initiates to reduce Damages, Pilferages, Leakages, Shortages etc.

- Keep track of all Inbound logistics operations for domestic and imports.

- Monitor smooth operations at different ports to facilitate timely connection of materials to plants.

- Monitor compliance with the defined Material Loading, Material Handling and Product Packing guidelines that has been defined to minimize in-transit damages.

- Oversee adoption of technology for Warehouse Automation capable of improving the efficiency.

- Monitor functional KPIs and extend support & guidance to avoid any operational lapses.

- Keep track compliance of internal and external audits.

Roles and Responsibilities :

4. Customer Service and Logistics (Domestics and Exports CSL)

- Monitor customer service and logistics function (Domestic & Export).

- Monitor the achievement of OTIF across branches.

- Ensure standard processes and best practices are implemented and adhered.

- Ensure strategic initiatives are implemented to improve overall customer experience through adoption of technology.

- Monitor the execution of strategic initiatives to mitigate and resolve customer's demand related issues.

- Monitor the completion of customer orders within specified timelines.

- Keep track of initiatives to minimize customer complaints (primary and secondary)

- Monitor functional KPIs and extend support & guidance to avoid any operational lapses.

- Keep track of compliance to internal and external audits.

5. Strategic Initiatives for improving Supply Chain Performance:

- Ensure implementation of digitization initiatives to address process efficiency, cost management, customer needs and risk management.

- Initiate restructuring of supply chain function for better bottom line.

- Monitor strategic initiatives to reduce the overall supply lead time, special in case of imported supplies to reduce the overall supply risk.

- Overview compliance with departmental SOPs by conducting periodic compliance audits.

6. Succession Planning, Mentoring and Coaching:

- Oversee resource planning and ensure timely recruitment and onboarding of these resources.

- Monitor succession planning for critical resources, ensure job rotation for de-risking,

- Mentor and continuously motivate the team for improving their individual performance and contribute more towards the company growth.

- Overview identification of training need and implementation on regular basis.

Desired candidate profile

- B.E + MBA with degrees from premier institutes of India.

- Strategic leader with 15 to 20 years' procurement + outbound SCM experience in a multi-site manufacturing and distribution environment.

- Past experience in strategic SCM consulting is desirable, in order to strengthen the supply chain function in terms of reliability, cost, efficiency, agility and responsiveness.
