Head - Strategic Procurement - FMCG

We are looking for Head of Strategic Procurement for a FMCG company based in Bangalore:

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Develop the sourcing strategy for high value raw materials and packaging items based on the Annual Production plan. Identify cost optimization opportunities.

- Oversee the procurement function of the organization; in addition, directly be responsible for managing the sourcing of traded commodities like Edible Oils, vanaspati, pulses etc.

- Manage all commodity trading activities, futures, options, price forecasting, credit schemes and forward fixed price contract execution in compliance with accounting and other audit requirements

- Ensure appropriate usage of indexes in supply agreements, support team in development of price/cost models

- Lead the relationships with related external agencies like brokerage firms, Govt. agencies, etc.

- Ensure co-ordination with inbound logistics and the plant. Take steps to expedite import clearances & resort to faster mode of transport within set budgets

Requirements and skills:

- Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement

- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the market

- Talent in negotiations and networking

- Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software

- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers

- Experience in collecting and analyzing data

- Strong leadership capabilities
