Head of South India Business Unit

The Southern Centre with HQ in Bangalore- provides comprehensive service packages to its clients in areas as varied as energy efficiency and other environmental services, rural extension, consultancy for green buildings and sustainable habitat activities, research on resource efficient process technologies, and educating the youth on sustainable development.

Role & Responsibilities :

Identifying, acquiring, developing and servicing new and existing relationships for the client through the best possible sources.

Support achievement of Southern Centre growth goals through buy in from various stakeholders.

Meeting stakeholders regularly to showcase the value proposition of the institute and also identify specific client needs to help develop innovative and cost effective solutions.

Manage the the client employees in the Southern Centre from a functional and administrative aspect as relevant making sure that the the client people practices are deployed uniformly across all groups and individuals in a fair and consistent manner.

Optimise the business management processes vis-a-vis the corporate processes/practices ensuring decentralization where required for smoother and efficient Southern Centre operations, in discussion with the relevant stakeholders.

Maintain at all times a thorough understanding and knowledge of all available resources and solutions through networking with the various program leaders, and matching those to client business requirements.

Communicate new trends in the southern region and building awareness to drive additional growth and allow for colleagues to leverage on existing capability.

Manage the the client locations/assets in the Southern Region to ensure development of the locations in line with the client strategy and business plans.

Key Outcomes/ Deliverable Owned

Optimal (near 100%) utilization of all the client Southern Centre resources.

Highly engaged and motivated team at the client Southern Centre

Strong state level connects at each of the states/UT in the southern region.

Positive revenue growth for the Southern Centre, driving further development of the the client infrastructure in the region

Key Experiences and Skills Required :

Leadership experience in an Energy/Sustainability/Power sector is preferred.

Overall 30+ years of experience with a minimum of 10+ years working in a strategic leadership/consulting/relationship management environment with hands on experience in managing organizational operations/people/deliverables.

Strong relationship and influencing skills, with a good cultural sensitivity to a highly people intensive environment.

Acumen to recognize client needs and stakeholder relationships.

Entrepreneurial attitude with keen negotiation, business acumen and problem solving skills.

Excellent communicator (both verbal and in written)

Strong organization and time management skills, able to multi task and manage projects.

Educational/Other Qualifications :

Recently Retired Senior Officer of the state/UT (preferably Southern Region); or Energy/Sustainability expert from the Public Sector/Private Sector/NGO
