Our Client - a well-regarded multi-business organization wishes to set up a captive Shared Services Organisation encompassing Financial and other functions across businesses.
The leader tasked with the responsibility of strategizing, planning, setting up, running and scaling up the shared services organization will be focusing on the following key dimensions among others.
Strategy and Planning:
Developing a clear understanding of the strategic way forward and why, how and when of the transitioning. Planning and laying out a clear roadmap and achievement milestones.
People - building the organisation:
Clearly defining the talent needs of the business in consonance with the business plans. Putting in place the executive leadership team and bringing on board the subject matter experts and operational and support teams. Training the teams to develop a cohesive, well-equipped talent pool.
Technology - is critical to building efficiencies and optimizing resources.
Bring in the technologies that are purpose fit, focus on accuracy, and versatility and are headcount efficient and futuristic. Using emerging technologies and creating a value proposition for optimally leveraging investments in technology.
Engagement - engaging & managing expectations.
Internal customers and not just those who work within need to be engaged. Building a culture of effective communication to keep the users on board and that of collaboration to effect the key changes. A clear understanding to the users of the benefits thereof, timelines and progress updates.
Leadership - is a must for success.
Shared services by themselves aim to bring about a certain change in the functioning of the organization. The leader influences the users and other stakeholders and drives the SS team to operational efficiency and deliver benefits to the businesses. Being strategic with a clear operational perspective, resilient and approachable.
Desired Qualifications/ Experience:
1. Experienced in Setting up or scaling up and running a shared service organisation of captive nature and servicing multiple verticals and processes.
2. Hiring, training and managing large teams.
3. Qualifications - CA, MBA/BA from leading institutes.
4. Post qualification experience of 20+ years.
5. Technical - SAP ERP
6. Project Management certifications
7. Shared services tools
