Head/Senior Manager - eCommerce (9-13 yrs)

Measures of Success :

- Annual ecommerce revenue and profit targets

- Ecommerce overall contribution to the company revenue and profit growth

- Quality of the ecommerce customer experience reflected in customer feedback, product ratings, and performance vs industry benchmarks

- Team performance and development reflected in smooth operations both Internal as well as external

Responsibilities :

- Ecommerce strategy development, taking into consideration company's omni channel vision as a whole as well as specific to e-commerce channels .

- Development of product range and digital road map along with Marketing and preparation and laying the groundwork for quarterly strategic reviews & stakeholder buy-in.

- Ecommerce P&L and performance vs plan taken, Including full trading responsibility for the brand website

- Setting up monthly KPIs with lead indicators on growth and monthly reporting against these KPIs.

- Always making sure that there are no commercial issues pending and the account books are clean and payments against goods are timely done by the channel partners.

- Ecommerce team management and their skill enhancements

- Quality and development of the Ecommerce customer experience including the buying experience ( in terms of A+ content & other engaging tool development) along with Marketing as well as immediate after sales experience along with Service.

- Working in partnership with other departments especially Marketing, Operations ( logistics), Service and Finance

- Priorities and effectiveness of performance marketing invested to drive ecommerce conversion and growth working closely with Digital Manager & Director Marketing, who have overall responsibility for total company digital marketing spend and overall marketing spend respectively.

- Management and performance of external e-commerce partners for optimal benefits to business. Develop and have excellent working relationship with channel partners right from account managers to vertical heads and beyond.

- To always be keeping an eye out for new developments in e-commerce, cross category or same category success stories, best practices across industry and how all this can be brought in to drive growths exponentially, after having buy-in from all stake holders.

Candidate Profile :

- The person will need to be commercially sound, highly analytical and have experience of taking an ecommerce channel/business from mid-tier to the next level altogether. The person will need to have a strong capability around developing ecommerce KPIs ( especially lead measures ) to drive and improve performance across all areas of the customer experience acquisition, engagement, conversion and lifetime value.

- He/ She should understand the complexities and challenges involved in scaling up an ecommerce function and have the confidence and knowledge to navigate these successfully, requiring strong project management and communication skills.

- The candidate will either have a background in omni-channel retail or pureplay ecommerce. It is essential they appreciate the value of becoming a truly omnichannel business and will be able to work collaboratively across functions to deliver a seamless omni channel experience for our customers. 


- They therefore need to be a strong team player with great interpersonal skills and a desire to proactively develop relationships across the business to promote collaboration. They should also be confident managing multiple stakeholders internally and externally.

- They should be self-motivated and prepared to be hands-on, action orientated and energized by the opportunity to work with a growing business.

Essential Experience :

- Minimum 9 years experience working within omnichannel or a pureplay ecommerce business

- Minimum 6 years of working within ecommerce

- Proven record of having built or jointly contributed to building an ecommerce business from a small base to a significant scale

- Comes from a business at the cutting edge of omni channel product optimization & performance marketing.

- Preferably Experience of working for a premium consumer product business

- Experience of managing external and internal stake holders

- Proven ecommerce analytical skills

- High attention to detail

- Strong project management

- Strong communication and influencing skills

- Digital tech knowledge and competence

- High commercial acumen

- Performance marketing with particular focus around conversion

- Ability to deliver and learn
