Head - Secondary Research - NGO (10-12 yrs)

Job Summary :

This position is expected to strategise and work with the team to advance the organization's knowledge and thought leadership agenda, through partnership building, systems building and people building activities. The candidate is also expected to work with the research and diligence leads to provide oversight on deliverables and processes as needed. Finally, the candidate will work with individuals and teams across the organization and bring insights on KCD's evolution and improvement needs to ensure it offers cutting edge role at the organization.

Primary Responsibilities :

1. Oversee knowledge development and dissemination processes (research, due diligence and other deliverables)

2. Facilitate content curation for key partners

3. Support the management in ensuring quality knowledge management

4. Oversee Project Managers and timely progress of projects

5. Front External Stakeholder Management as needed

6. Invest in People development and Management

7. Co-build a committed and process-based team to deliver cutting edge thought leadership

Desired Skills and Experience :

- 10+ years of experience in the Indian and/or international development sector with a focus on research management, communications and knowledge management

- Experience in managing a cross functional team and managing relationships with senior management, key clients as well as with a wider horizontal team - a relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to manage by influencing

- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the development sector and policy landscape in India

- Experience managing complex, long-term projects, with a wide range of stakeholders, while managing budgets and adhering to deadlines

- Strong problem solving skills - with a dynamic environment and growing team, a variety of process and logistical issues may arise. The candidate will be expected to display exceptional trouble-shooting skills and good judgment to problem solve effectively and collaboratively

- Have a strong commitment and ability to develop a team and nurture talent to deliver excellent results

- Entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness to build systems and processes, able to work independently, as well as the ability to think and act creatively in a resource constrained environment

- Have the flexibility to be able to work in fast-moving and dynamic work environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and motivational skills
