Job Description - Head of Sales / Marketing Instavans is a technology startup working primarily in Urban Freight Logistics (Intra-city) and Internet domain. The company is promoted by two seasoned entrepreneurs / technocrats to cater to the incredibly growing logistics industry across the world. Instavans is committed to deliver the best Urban Freight Logistics solutions built to create a real-time marketplace as an - Uber- experience for truckers and shippers. Focus will be on development of products, executing and running the marketplace portal that will improve the overall efficiency & productivity by dramatically improving the asset utilization and thus reducing logistics costs. The products will be implemented using scalable architectures on the web and various mobile devices. Position - Head of Sales / Marketing Reporting to - CEO Number of Openings: - Bangalore - 1 Education - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a premier institute with first class - MBA (Marketing) preferred Experience - Minimum 10-12 years of experience in an on-the-ground, fast paced, dynamic business environment, preferable in sales, procurement, supply chain in logistics / transportation domain - Prior experience in heading sales function at regional or Pan India level will be preferred - Team Handling experience mandatory Role Responsibilities and Desired Profile: 1. Formulation of sales and marketing strategy in coordination with the management 2. Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives 3. Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets. 4. Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail. 5. Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share. 6. Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends. 7. Ensures effective control of marketing results and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets. 8. Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions. 9. Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities. 10. Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. 11. Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management. 12. Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events. 13. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly. 14. Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs. 15. Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals. 16. Meet with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals. 17. Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units. 18. Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements. 19. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. 20. Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness. 21. Develop and manage a team of Territory managers and sales executives 22. Allocating targets, leads, tracking and monitoring the work of each team member along with ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of their work 23. Responsible for New Business & organic growth within retained accounts. 24. Identify talent within the team for next level and identification of training needs for next level skills development
