SBU Head Sales & Marketing (Orthopaedic Division)
About the Job
We're looking for a highly experienced and dynamic SBU Head Sales & Marketing to lead our Orthopaedic Division. In this critical role, you'll have end-to-end P&L ownership, driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and ensuring the profitability of this strategic business unit. You will be instrumental in leading cross-functional teams across sales, product management, marketing, and strategy, ensuring their efforts are fully aligned with our organizational goals and the evolving market dynamics within the orthopaedic segment.
Key Responsibilities
As the SBU Head, you will be responsible for:
- P&L Management: Taking full accountability for the top-line and bottom-line financial performance of the Orthopaedic SBU.
- Sales Leadership: Leading and driving nationwide sales execution through our Zonal Sales Managers (ZSMs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), and Area Sales Managers (ASMs) to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Marketing Strategy: Spearheading brand strategy development, lifecycle management, and the execution of impactful marketing campaigns for both existing and new products within the orthopaedic portfolio.
- Team Development: Mentoring, coaching, and leading a high-performing team of dedicated sales and marketing professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring their success.
- Market Expansion: Identifying and executing strategic opportunities for expansion into untapped geographies and new therapy areas within the orthopaedic space.
- Portfolio Management: Collaborating closely with our Research & Development (R&D) and regulatory teams to drive new product development and successful market launches.
- KOL Engagement: Building and nurturing strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the orthopaedic community to strengthen our market presence and enhance brand recall.
- Competitor Intelligence: Proactively monitoring market trends, competitor strategies, and industry developments to ensure we remain ahead of the curve and maintain a competitive advantage.

Expertise
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading P&L for a division or business unit within the highly competitive Indian pharmaceutical market.
- Market Acumen: Strong understanding of therapy segmentation, effective field force management, and strategic brand building within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership capabilities, coupled with outstanding communication and analytical skills.
Education / Experience
- Education: A Bachelors degree in Science or Pharmacy is required. An MBA in Marketing is strongly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 16 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role overseeing a business unit or division.
