Job Description

PayTM is looking for a passionate Head of Merchant and Transaction Risk Team who will help in steering in the next phase of growth for the company. With over 140,000 merchants on-board and millions of transactions processed on a daily basis, Paytm is exposed to significant risk as a payment gateway. The head of this team will not only be instrumental in managing this risk but will also provide valuable insights to the top leadership on strategic plans.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in handling Risk across Banking/ BFSI/ Big 4 companies like Kotak/ Citibank/ HDFC/ ICICI/ KPMG/ PWC etc. or have dealt with payment gateways & risk side of the business across leading eCommerce companies like flipkart/ snapdeal/ amazon etc.

Responsibilities :

- Own Merchant and Transaction risk and manage to keep the risk levels below thresholds

- Manage the fine balance of controlling risk without causing significant loss of business

- Manage the policies & processes part in an end-to-end manner.

- Authorize on-boarding and termination of merchants and manage operational team involved in monitoring of merchant activity and transaction monitoring

- Interact with merchants on day to day basis to facilitate easy risk management for them and guide them in their processes

- Work with risk engineering and product team to develop tools required for better risk monitoring

- Collaborate with risk teams within the Group and outside to be remain on the top of the current trends in the industry

- Work with business heads in estimating the risk of new business ventures

- Work with the global risk team in implementation of best practices in Indian entity

- Prepare risk dashboards and report them on a timely basis to the management

Requirements :

- 7 to 10 years of experience in acquiring risk management with a large bank or payment gateway is required

- At least 3-4 years of experience in leading a team of 10 or more people is required

- Graduate from a Tier 1 college; MBA from Tier 1 colleges or specialization in risk domain such as FRM would be an added advantage

- In-depth knowledge of acquiring risk management, card association rules and regulations is preferable

- Hands on experience in transaction risk monitoring tools such as cyber source, PRM is required

- Ability to perform under tight deadlines and produce measurable output

- Adept at thinking on feet and finding solutions to complex problems

- Strong analytical mindset with a bend for data and attention to detail

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
