Head - Retail Risk - BFSI (10-19 yrs)

Role Objective:-

- This is a leadership role leading and managing the Retail Risk function. This role will focus on strengthening the Risk function spanning across Retails products being launched. Also responsible for managing Operational risk, maintaining service standards, cost efficiencies and maximizing resource capabilities, including people. Accountable for ensuring a high-quality risk environment that is strictly in accordance with the regulatory and governance policies.

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Setting Risk and Policy team from scratch with strong experience in credit risk function working in conjunction with senior leaders and partners

- Keeping risk and portfolio performance at the optimum level

- Underwriting of Retail Risk products using technology

- Ensuring that the governance, risk, compliance and control frameworks of the set up are strong and robust

- Strategise and partner in implementing technology to enable a digital journey in the retail lending process- e.g. underwriting , KYC etc.

- Oversight of collections and debt recovery

- Strong hands one experience in risk modelling and analytics with use of various risk tools

- End-to-end Risk process, workflow management system and customer service for Retail lending products, with an increased focus on accurate and timely execution to drive client experience

- Ensuring that all processes and services are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Risk Management Framework and internal Policies and Policy Standards

- Evaluating and driving implementation of IT modules for loan underwriting and operations (LOS/LMS/CRM). Integration with partner IT systems to ensure smooth flow of transactions

- Strategizing and implementing initiatives focusing on improvements in cost, control, capacity, client service and cycle time. Ensure processes that are beneficial to the company are put in place without compromising control mechanisms.

- Regularly evaluate the efficiency of processes and procedures within the function are supportive of organisational objectives and bring about process improvements as needed.

- Ensure that the team adheres to the agreed timelines for the deliverables to various teams without fail.

- Efficient stakeholder management- both short term and long term.

- Lead and participate in improvement projects.

- Train and coach team members

SPECIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES:

Minimum Qualification:

CA/CFA/MBA - Finance with 12 to 15 years of experience in NBFC, Banks with Retail Lending.

Skills Required:

- Sound knowledge of Retail Lending across sectors and products. Working Knowledge of data analytics and operational metrics.

- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving attitude.

- Excellent communication and influencing skills.

- Result and action oriented; highly motivated and ambitious.

- Strong project management and execution skills.

- Strong leadership skills with prior experience in leading a large, knowledgeable, and diverse team.

- Experience of and ability to stretch oneself, work under pressure, lead multiple assignments simultaneously and deliver on deadlines.

- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, self-motivated individual having the ability to work individually and as a leader of the team
