Job Summary:

The Retail Collection Head will be responsible for strategizing, managing, and overseeing the collection of retail NPA loan portfolios, ensuring healthy asset quality and minimal delinquency. This role involves leveraging digital tools, analytics, and automated processes to enhance recovery performance, optimize delinquency management, and improve overall portfolio health.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning:

- Develop and implement collection strategies for various retail loan

- Define recovery goals and targets aligned with the company's objectives.

- Analyze collection trends and recommend process improvements.

- Develop and implement end-to-end collection strategies utilizing digital tools (IVR, automated reminders, payment gateways).

Operational Execution:

- Lead and manage the collections team across regions to achieve collection targets.

- Design and implement early bucket and late-stage delinquency management processes.

- Oversee field collection activities, legal recovery processes, and third-party agency management.

Portfolio Monitoring:

- Monitor portfolio health, delinquency trends, and risk exposure.

- Implement risk mitigation strategies to control Non-Performing Assets (NPAs).

- Regularly review collection MIS and reports for actionable insights.

Team Leadership:

- Recruit, train, and mentor the collections team to enhance performance.

- Set performance benchmarks and conduct regular performance reviews.

Compliance & Governance:

- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements in the collection process.

- Implement fair practices and ethical collection standards.

Vendor, Technology Partner & Legal Coordination:

- Identify and collaborate with fintech partners,

- Manage third-party collection agencies and legal partners.

- Collaborate with legal teams for handling litigation and recovery through legal channels.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Proven track record in retail collections and recovery operations with hands-on experience in digital collection tools

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Analytical and strategic thinking.

- In-depth understanding of regulatory guidelines related to collections.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

- Proficiency in MIS reporting and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in mid-sized NBFCs or financial institutions.

- Exposure to digital collection tools and strategies.

- Knowledge of legal recovery procedures and compliance norms.

- IT knowledge to encourage use of technology in collection process
