Head - Research & Development/Quality - Color Cosmetic Firm

Our client is the 5th largest name in the IT industry and Revenues of over US$ 700 Million. Looking at Healthcare as a compulsory consumption our client is focusing its energies in increasing its presence in healthcare. It's brand for the hospitals, has generated strong momentum by setting up 4 green field Hospitals in just 12 months across 3 formats i.e. ortho-spine, integrated womencare (Gynaec, IVF & birthing) and eye care.

Our client also runs its Fund which is India's leading Sector Fund with 17 investments. Further increasing its focus on the India consumption story, the group has recently formed a Joint Venture with a leading online shopping platform. Given this backdrop, our client is now making a foray into fast growing Personal Care (Skin Care, Hair Care) category within FMCG space. Our client is excited about this endeavour and is looking to add high energy talent to build a pan India brand in next 2 years. Differentiated Product range & Online first distribution strategy will be core thrust areas for the Group.

Reporting into the CEO, you will be responsible for -

- Working closely with CM (including conducting field visits) to conduct quality tests; liaise with external agencies for carrying out tests on own brand products and imported partner brand products; establishing quality procedures, standards and specifications;

- Working with Operations Head to analyse production feasibility and set quality standards

- Overseeing production to ensure final approved sample is being followed in production

- Ensuring adherence to certifications & compliance and also the CM comply with ISO accreditation requirements

- Auditing materials provided by CM to assure quality before shipping to stores/customers.

- Liaise with external testing labs to assess the product's quality by testing for a range of features and seeing how the product performs under stresses like impact, temperature, humidity, etc

- Investigating causes of quality problems and proposing solutions.

- Managing Co-Packer manufacturing operations which includes (Quality, Production, Packaging, Product Development and technicalities, lab tests at the vendors- sites etc.

- Ideally you are a chemical Engineer with more than 10 years of experience in managing quality / manufacturing (cosmetics manufacturing knowledge required). Color Cosmetics Experience is a must. You should have worked with contract manufacturers and testing labs (mandatory experience with cosmetics) and should be well-versed with regulations and standards of cosmetics manufacturing.

You should have demonstrated excellent track record in your last roles and should be ready for the next challenging role in a startup ortganization
