We are looking for Head R&amp;D for a client based in Chennai. This is a Start-Up company into Diagnosing product (wound care). The successful candidate : 1. Must have prior experience in molecular biology, optoelectronics and microfluidics 2. Must have prior experience in working in a medical device industry with a history of products from inception to GTM 3. Must be a PhD graduate Role Description for R&amp;D Head : 1. Identifies new strategies and projects for the investigation, design, and implementation of new or improved products and/or applications. 2. Lead experiment design; develop protocols for literature review and drafting literature for subsequent publications 3. Identifies future technology and intellectual property critical to future business growth and drives implementation. Active participant in the due diligence process. 4. Leads technology advancements for the department; implements principles of ISO 13485:2016 and other appropriate regulatory norms 5. Develops and ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirement. 6. Ensures that new product and processing technologies are ready for new product development efforts. 7. Have extensive internal contacts across optoelectronics and microfluidics industries and external contacts with physicians and/or industry specialists for collaboration. 8. Collaboratively determines short- and long-term product strategies and technologies. 9. Ensures implementation of functional excellence initiatives. 10. Encourages problem-solving processes leading to solutions that can be leveraged across divisions. 11. Ensure sharing of initiatives/ideas and accomplishments across the divisions. 12. Responsible for succession planning and the development and implementation of retention strategies. 13. Proactively reviews future technologies and plans needed resources with appropriate technical skills either through external search or training to prepare. 14. Cover decision making (design review) responsibilities for select projects 15. Continually drive disease, therapy and product understanding, for self and group
