Head - R&D/Fermentation - Biological Research Vertical

Biology R & D Head ( FERMENTATION HEAD )

- Responsible for overall Biologicals Research vertical of the organization.

- To guide the management from time to time in decision making and building biological product portfolio.

- To have in-depth knowledge and experience in product portfolio development of both microbial and cell culture based products.

- To have in-depth knowledge in various current technologies in Biological research and development and be able to adopt them where ever possible.

- To have thorough knowledge in biological products in both upstream and downstream development and be able to adapt and synchronise with the existing facilities and augment the need for setting up or enhancing capabilities in order to develop, tech-transfer biological products.

- To plan, prioritise and execute the research and development projects keeping in mind the company's short, medium and long term business goals.

- To have in-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements and keep tab on the requirements and make sure the compliance is adhered to.

- To ensure smooth operations of the biologicals vertical including research, Pilot manufacturing, supporting analytical development and compliance.

- To have up to date knowledge in analytical requirement of biological products and build team to handle the analytical development capabilities.

- To co-ordinate with project management team and evaluate proposals based on client requirements, provide technical inputs, evaluate commercial viability, problem solving etc.,

- To co-ordinate with manufacturing team and bring in seamless tech-transfer operations

- To be able to handle projects and co-ordinate with effective internal and external client communications.

- To facilitate inter-department meeting and ensure smooth functioning of R&D operations.

- To recruit and build highly talented skilled technical team in upstream/downstream operations.

- To plan and manage all resources for smooth functioning of R&D operations. To report to management on periodic basis on the progress of projects and making appropriate decisions from time to time.

- To maintain and develop good organizational culture, values and be approachable to all levels in the organisation. To be open for ideas generating at any level of organisation.

- To have sufficient Environment, Health and Safety requirements in Research and development activities.
