Head of Quality - Innerwear/ Knitwear
Role Summary:
- Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, advise on changes and how to implement them and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve best in class quality standards
Set & enforce quality standards & expectations:
- Devise and establish quality procedures, standards and specifications; implement and standardize the legal and technical requirements in every point of the supply chain
- Monitor quality assurance guidelines for different product categories in collaboration with Quality assurance managers & also draft vendors quality guidelines on basis of historical vendor performance
- Define SOPs for vendors for self-certification basis quality standards to reduce quality inspection requirements for in-bound material
- Develop an agenda to spread the culture of Quality in the organization, increase the relevance of this topic
Drive Execution Excellence through Quality:
- Review and reinforce the management of quality KPIS in supply chain, connecting them with business indicators and using them as leverage to grow
- Review and implement the quality compliance and risk mitigation strategy for category
- Suggest raw material and finished product testing and improvement/modification in the material specification as and when required
- Establish standard quality metrics and implement methods for consistent reporting
- Ensure scientific root cause identification for any recurring quality issue
- Manage quality control in the 2 locations - Tiruppur & Bangalore
Establish, maintain & audit Quality Management System:
- Set objectives, monitor & advise of the performance of the Quality Management System
- Administer and recommend improvements and streamline of Quality System
People Management:
- Supervise the quality assurance and quality control team and delegate tasks across departments when necessary
- Maintain staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
