Head - Purchase & Stores - Chemical Manufacturer (Egypt)

Head of Purchase and Stores function.

Responsibilities:

- Overall management of Purchasing and Stores Function.

- Take ownership of the purchasing and inventory management policy and guidelines

- Procurement and inventory management of Raw materials, Chemicals, Fuels, Packing materials, engineering spares to support uninterrupted plant operations. Also responsible for Project purchases and services

- Work alongside the management team in contributing to overall business objectives.

- Develop and implement a strategy to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings.

- Ensure that the processes are in place to meet the objectives in terms of price, quality and delivery targets, evaluation and rationalisation of supply chain solutions including vendor managed inventory, supplier consignments and safety stock

- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base.

- Lead and manage a team of Buyers and store keepers to deliver the appropriate support to the business.

- Work closely with Operations team to source new and alternative raw materials and services

- Daily review and management of inbound and outbound material receipt and despatch in co-ordination with operations team.

- Monthly stock / inventory reconciliation

- Provide leadership to departments under control. Coach, mentor and manage team that delivers continuous improvement, value addition and cost reductions

- Set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance

- Periodical performance reviews, report submission, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues and procedures as appropriate.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

Qualification: An engineer with min. 25 years experience in Purchase and Stores management especially in a chemical / petrochemical / continuous process industry.
