Head - Purchase/Materials/Procurement - Heavy Engineering

Job description:

- Must have handson experience in all procurement functions for Electrical items, mechanical stores and raw materials especially for EOT Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Material Handling Equipments, etc.

- Working level understanding for the various major purchase items like Motors, Drives, Panels/erooms, gear boxes, steel plates, structural steel, castings, forgings, couplings, brakes, etc.

- Locating suitable suppliers/ develop new supliers as required

- Obtain offers and negotiate with Suppliers

- Collaborate intra and inter departmental activities (technical / commercial / administrative / financial)

- Monitor performance of the department

- Evaluate competency of new vendor

- Followup with suppliers for timely delivery

- Approval of purchase order as per financial authority

- Follow up with Finance for supplier payment

- Preparation of department budget

- Stores Management

- Inventory Management

Qualification:

BE Mechanical

Experience: 20 + years of proven experience
