Head - Product Engineering & Technology - SEA Business

We are seeking candidates with a strong background in managing agile software teams, and a passion for building solutions to difficult social problems. Most importantly, successful candidates should possess the ability to lead teams solving complex challenges, both human and technological.

As a leader, the day-to-day work may include:

1. Leading meetings and removing blockers for developer teams.

2. Leading the sprint planning and retrospective process.

3. Creating and managing project work plans and budgets.

4. Communicating with project teams and clients on software planning and execution.

5. Reviewing team deliverables for quality control.

6. Producing materials for client development and fundraising.

7. Working with the team leads to refine the project lifecycle and how we manage the team.

8. Mentoring junior team members and other managers.

Technical qualifications :

1. Bachelor's/Master's degree.

2. 4-10 years relevant work experience, including managerial experience in a developing country.

3. Experience managing software development teams, such as serving as a product manager.

4. Experience using agile principles and tools in a management context.

5. Understanding of the software development lifecycle and related concepts such as version control, testing, and continuous integration/deployment.

5. Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. The most competitive applicants will also have experience in one or more of the following:

2. Advanced degree, preferably in public policy, economics, public administration, business, engineering, or computer science.

3. Writing clean code in a production setting.

4. Writing user- and developer-facing documentation for software projects.

5. Designing architecture for software systems.

6. Managing cloud infrastructure using a hosting service like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

7. Familiarity with user research methodologies.

8. Experience managing budgets of large scale projects or P&L for a business unit.
