Head - Product Engineering Services

Our client a large IT services company is looking for a passionate leader who can lead a world-class team to build and deliver enterprise and consumer scale cloud products. He will also be responsible for the operations. The candidate also needs to manage & work with multiple clients and multiple stake-holders at the same time. This is a multi-dimensional role where successful candidate should :

- Understand customer vision, direction & priorities

- Co-develop the product/solution roadmap and the create required execution strategy

- Build and mentor a world class R&D and Operations teams

- Deliver the products and services to end-customers in-line with the agreed business & delivery metrics.

- Foster and drive the vision throughout the organization, especially in the areas of product development, quality, operational success, and devops

- Collaborate with and influence other senior leaders in developing best practices and promoting engineering excellence

Budget & planning :

1. Forecasting budgets and building release timelines and staffing and resource planning for future initiatives

2. Managing all aspects of the execution of engineering budget

- Team Building & Mentoring :

1. Create a Strong Recruitment & Hiring plan in partnership with HR teams

2. Direct accountability of team building & ramp-up

3. Build & Mentor domain / technical depth within the engineering teams

Process & Quality :

1. Establish processes, policies, procedures, SLAs and ownership around those

2. Develop and monitor key metrics and report on regular basis including detailed performance metrics, KPI's, coverage gaps, project reports, incidents, and alerts

3. Strive to become a lean organization by reducing waste across the groups and drive towards increase product quality and release stability by metrics-driven continuous improvements

- Communication and Cross functional work relationships :

1. Establish successful partnership with US based Engineering & Product management teams & formulate the strategy and roadmap.

2. Facilitating effective day-to-day communication within the organization and with clients in a cross-functional manner

3. Collaborate and resolve conflicts in alignment with business goals

Qualifications :

- BS/MS in CS or related field with 15 or more years in building, leading and implementing software engineering function - largely around enterprise software product development

- 10+ years minimum of real-world leadership experience building world class global teams of top notch senior and principal-level engineers and leaders. We are looking for a passionate leader that can actively communicate, inspire, motivate & lead technical employees.

- Strong record of engineering excellence including continuous delivery of high quality, large scale., Expertise in Test-Driven Development and establishing a DevOps practice. Multiple product launches under your belt - from design to launch, having played a key role in their success

- Hands on expertise in implementing distributed architectures and platforms that support security, virtualization, scale, availability, performance, and automation - deployed at scale.

- Hands on expertise with products for SaaS deployments in AWS or Azure clouds, using container technologies, is a plus

- Strong business knowledge complementing technical skills to understand the customer's business and technical drivers and challenges.

- Willingness to roll sleeves up all the way to managing extended global teams to deliver product.

- Ability to deal with ambiguity and work successfully with a global highly distributed team

- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills. Able to identify and resolve issues in timely manner.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong presentation skills
