Head - Product Engineering - IP Asset Management Firm (15-20 yrs)

Client is a leading IP Asset Management Company with offices in several locations around the world. They are building a futuristic IP Asset Management platform, and are growing the technology development team in Bangalore!

They are looking for a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mind set to take charge of product engineering and to help build a truly world class enterprise software of the future! You- ll play a critical role in building and developing a Product Roadmap, working closely with their leadership and functional teams in establishing, leading and inspiring a world class engineering team.

The ideal candidate shall be a proven technology leader with deep experience in leading software development teams in the design and development of world class enterprise products & platforms using cutting edge software development technologies & platforms. Proven track record of software product delivery in multiple environments, with a high quality team management experience is essential.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelors / Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent from a reputed institute.

- Minimum 15+ years of experience in Software Product Development at an enterprise level.

- Experience of software architecting, leading development team, taking products through the entire product development life cycle in at least one large development organization or at a successful high tech software product start-up.

- Demonstrated success establishing a streamlined software development process (Agile/Lean) including solid documentation and exceptional functional quality and reliability

- Ability to conceptualise and articulate technology solutions both to senior management and to the technical teams.

Technical Competencies & Required Skill Sets

- Demonstrated technical capability in architecting and developing enterprise products and applications using multiple stacks including Java/J2EE/JavaScript stack, with deep expertise in the following backend stacks & framework: Meteor Framework, MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular JS, Node JS)

- Well acquainted with cutting edge front-end development: Preferably good knowledge of Polymer framework as well as other Javascript frameworks including Angular, Backbone, React etc.

- Good knowledge of CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, Foundation HTML5, CSS3 and front-end tools like Grunt, Gulp, Bower, Yeoman will be advantageous.

- Good Experience of building data warehouse & sound knowledge of structured & non structured databases including schema design and advanced queries.

- Good knowledge of integration of Machine Learning platforms in big data - Apache Mahout, R, Spark, Weka etc

- Good knowledge of implementing Apache Hadoop/Cloudera HBase/Spark/SparkSQL/Hive in a big data technology platform.

- Good knowledge of implementing /designing Indexed search frameworks like SOLR, ElasticSearch or other Lucene based frameworks.

- Experience in Cloud technologies (AWS EC2, S3, Azure, etc), Web technologies & knowledge of large scale infrastructure technologies (rack/blade servers, networking etc.)

- Experienced in designing multi-threaded applications for high throughput/low latency

- Should be highly conversant with Agile methodologies. Knowledge of DevOps appreciated.

- Must be well versed with advanced principles of object oriented analysis, design and programming.

- Must be experienced in working on multi developer source code version control platforms like Github & in project management & software collaboration tools like Slack, Jira, Asana etc.

- Ability to review source code from a quality perspective.

Who You'll Work With

You- ll work in their Development center at Bangalore office and lead the LEAP II development team.

Their LEAP II development team comprises of a bunch of bright and energetic developers focused on building a cutting-edge enterprise platform, utilizing the latest in technology frameworks & platforms that delivers maximum impact to the core business of IP Asset Management.You will report into the Chief Technology Officer.

What You'll Do

You will build and lead a world-class engineering team to develop the LEAP II platform and its associated products and solutions for internal and external clients.

You will work closely with the development team and will be accountable for the design of the solution architecture, design of APIs, database structure, messaging, web service infrastructure and application interface.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities

- Work in an agile environment to design and implement new features based on business requirements

- Provide overall direction, guidance and definition of the technical architecture to the development team

- Manage the scalability and technical infrastructure roadmap and deliver on the same.

- Responsible for the overall quality of deliverables across all parameters including functionality, performance, scalability, security, and usability

- Provide oversight and general best practice tools and techniques to other developers

- Help other team member in resolving technical issues

- Be hands on in key infrastructure/scalability projects, and also do code reviews of critical features.

- Effectively communicate with team members as well as product management.

Industries

Experience in software product development at an Enterprise level in a successful global product development organization. Domain experience in IP services or in IP Service technology development companies will be an added advantage.
