- Looking to hire a Head of Procurement in Indian based organic food company with 10+ years of experience in fresh produce (fruits and vegetables) along with excellent connect with farmers based out of Mumbai
Client Details :
Our client is an Indian based organic food company working in providing world class products to its customers in India by leveraging aggregation in agriculture. They are catering to their customers across the world and are rapidly expanding to spread their reach across the world. They are looking to hire Head of Procurement (fruit and vegetables), based out of Mumbai.
Description :
Reporting to the COO, your responsibilities will be :
- Driving all initiatives and responsibilities for procurement of fresh fruits, across its verticals
- Contributing to growth of practices by studying market trends, consumption trends and other factors to be able to come up with initiatives
- Managing vendor network for fresh fruits and vegetables for best quality sourcing
- Studying the existing supply chain network, existing framework and coming up with innovations for effective and improved supply chain
- Establishing standards for best quality products, driving processes for efficient delivery and managing pricing
- Heading the local farmer base for sourcing activities for highly perishable and daily purchase products
- Building farmer pipeline efficiently from farmer clusters to ensure around the year supply at competitive prices
- Managing fulfilment and the pipeline for local sourcing products
- Leading, managing and training a sourcing team to build strong relations with farmers, set goals and incentive structure with targets, to drive them efficiently
- Recognizing farmer happiness and a better livelihood for farming families and ensuring value proposition for farmers
Profile :
- Ideally you are a successful sales professional with at least 10 years of experience in procuring fruits and vegetables or agriculture or similar industries.
- You should be able to build networks with farmers to ensure constant supply of fruits and vegetables, manage relations with external as well as internal stakeholders, lead a team for sourcing and can create environment for growth for them.
- You are curious about the market trends, prices and consumption trends to contribute to processes, quality standards and pricing in the category to develop business. You have a great track record and are keen on new challenges.
