Procurement Head-A specialty chemical company

- Our client is a leading Indian speciality chemical company with its manufacturing setup in Maharashtra. They have a procurement spend of about 1500 crores split between Direct and Indirect Categories. They are looking for a Chief of Procurement to be based out of Pune.

Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain and managing a team of 15 people, you shall be responsible for :

- Leading and managing the centralized direct, indirect procurement of R.M., Engineering purchases and services sourcing worth 1500 crores

- Acting in a Cost Leadership position by bringing about noticeable reduction in the Material Cost & Inventory

- Introducing new technologies to manage the sourcing and purchasing process effectively

- Reducing of material cost

- Upgrading vendor selection and relations keeping quality in mind

- Deepening relationship with suppliers by establishing long term relationships with vendors/suppliers & looking at new suppliers for new products being developed

- Improving Bargaining Power with Suppliers & increase the client's power as a buyer

- Cost effective outsourcing of not so critical or non-strategic items but having business importance

- Managing export incentives, managing 300 SKUs and implementing best practices of China Sourcing / Import purchases

- Ideally you are senior procurement professional with at least 20 years of overall experience and at least 15 years of relevant experience.

- You MUST have handled direct procurement worth 700-1000 crores in chemical industry.

- You MUST have exposure to China region for sourcing and procurement within China.

- You should ideally have experience in both direct and indirect procurement, but direct procurement is a MUST.

- You should have experience in diversifying the vendor base, developing outsourcing partners and usage of technology to bring in efficiency.

- You should have complete understanding of taxes and duties, costing and budgeting SAP IMS requirements and knowledge of Import & Licensing procedures.

- You should have a terrific track record in leading teams and should be ready for a challenging assignment.
