Job Title : Head - Procurement

Grade - VP/SVP

Place of work - BKC Mumbai

Business Unit - Corporate Function

Function - Enterprise Services Group

Job Purpose:

The role entails primary responsibility for procurement of all products and services for the bank while ensuring cost efficiency.

This is a vital role which is accountable for the smooth functioning of the day to day maintenance and facilities of the bank and contributes to maintaining overall efficiency and cost effectiveness. The role holder is expected to develop a centralized procurement program that adds value and efficiency to the bank.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote cost effectiveness and efficiency

- Oversee contract development and administration

- Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors

- Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process

- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms

- Act as the bridge/conduit between the service providers (vendors) and business teams

- Spearhead the vendor management program to ensure smooth governance and high operational efficiencies

- Responsible for issuance of purchase order post acceptance by business team

- Ensure early engagement with all levels of management within the bank to determine needs, develop strategies and plan and provide procurement sources in support of those needs

- Lead the requisitioning and vendor pay-outs for ESG

- Development of benchmarks and scorecards to be used for continuous improvement

- Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies

- Present procurement reports to senior leadership

- Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement team

- Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements

- Capture and share best- practice knowledge amongst the team

- Create an environment that promotes collaborative learning and collective ownership of responsibilities

- Drive Savings: Develop saving plans for the identified projects and work with expense line owners to explore savings opportunities through operational excellence

- Keep abreast with Procurement management and global procurement process benchmarks to employ best practices

- Collaborate strongly with the business/ support units and provide them with requisite materials and services that help them in their day to day operations

Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities :

- Monitor key parameters on productivity, hiring quality and costs via maintaining relevant scorecards

- Build, groom and retain top-class procurement talent pool to enable high levels of process efficiencies

- Attract and retain best-in-class talent for key roles in their reporting structure

- Ensure adherence to benchmarks/processes set up for finalising commercials and other key parameters
