Internal Stake Holders: Product, Credit, Risk, Analytics, Finance, Operations & Technology

External Stake Holders: Business Partners/Fintechs/Card Schemes

Peers - within functions: Product and Sales Leads

Nature of contribution:

Credit Card Portfolio management covers the full spectrum of overseeing and administering the credit card programs, portfolios & Customer lifecycle, and accounts. It encompasses risk management, account management, portfolio reporting and monitoring, and many other activities.

Scope of contribution:

The goal is to offer the customer efficient services and responses while internally controlling costs, appropriately managing risks and revenues, and achieving corporate and regulatory compliance.

Job Purpose :

The Credit Card Portfolio Manager is responsible for developing and executing direct portfolio stimulation and growth campaigns for credit card products. The role will support the planning, development, and implementation of portfolio growth tactics, existing customer management strategies, and the overall management of pricing initiatives and utilization promotions.

Key / Primary Responsibilities-

- Create portfolio management strategies to maximize portfolio growth across all customer contact points, including statements, customer service, direct/ e-mail, online/digital, and branch; Design, develop and oversee customer management programs including:


1) credit line management programs,


2) new and dormant account activation


3) account upgrade strategies and


4) balance build campaigns


5) Deferral programs


6) Customer Service & Authorization Strategy

- Accountability for all credit card balance transfer programs for new and existing customers.

Portfolio Expense and Revenue/Rewards Management:

- Accountability for portfolio yield management and pricing initiatives including seasonal promotions and utilization campaigns.

- Accountability for the management of all customer rewards programs, including responsibility for rewards expense budget and reserve, pricing of offerings, promotion, and working with third-party partners including fulfillment agencies.

Risk Management:

- Partner with credit risk to strengthen control strategies, enhancements in credit policy, and portfolio-wide analytics and reporting.

- Partner closely with risk teams to identify opportunities within current credit strategies to optimize risk/reward trade-offs

Secondary Responsibilities-

- Build strong relations with leaders & managers of different stakeholders internally and externally

- Align closely with Customer Service to build and maintain a strong customer experience

- Evaluate & drive promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line and customer segment

- Collaborate with Product, Credit, Marketing, Finance, and Operations in the execution of such strategies

Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities-

- Ability to evaluate potential business opportunities, structure the team's thinking, and reach insightful answers

- Experience in shepherding multiple cross-functional opportunities and projects in parallel

- Ambitious team player with execution biasincluding in time sensitive situations

Key Success Metrics-

- Drive and achieve the agreed business plan and P&L metrics though sales support and marketing/risk/analytics interventions

- Gain a deep understanding of customer segments, experience, identify and fill gaps.

Qualifications and Experience :

- Experience in unsecured with a focus in credit risk, marketing analytics, or portfolio analytics.

- Experience in credit card lending, TRIAD or Adaptive control strategy management preferred.

- Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills.

- Excellent managerial and leadership skills.

- Proficient in all Bank products and services and alternative delivery channels within a retail bank.

- Ability to make decisions independently and obtain maximum staff performance.
