OPERATIONS HEAD - MANUFACTURING (PAPER / CHEMICAL)
At present we are having an opening for OPERATIONS HEAD for a reputed company into paper and chemicals based out of their plant in MADHYA PRADESH location.
The company is a of a renowned business conglomerate which has had a significant role to play in nation-building for over 200 Yrs in areas of #technology, #automotiveindustry, #homebuilding, #papermills #healthcareindustry & #education. It has a history of 86 Years and standing strong when the average age of S&P 500 companies today is less than 18 years!
Position : Head (Operations)
Base Job Location : Amlai, Madhya pradesh
Reports to : Chief Operating Officer
Job purpose:
- To lead and mentor a team of about 200 staff and 2000 employees of Operations team and to manage pulp and paper manufacturing operations of the mill on a shift basis.
- Ensure that Safety is the priority and generate a culture and expectation of safe work behavior. Nurture a positive goal-directed team environment.
- Oversee and optimize operations with the team to meet or exceed mill Quality, Cost, Production and Safety/Housekeeping standards.
- Support and coordinate administrative systems and processes to ensure consistent application of standards, policies and processes.
Responsibilities :
- Responsible for output and efficiency in areas of working like - Pulp Mill, Paper Machine, Chemical Recovery, Utilities like Boiler House & Turbines
- Know production performance goals and track results on a shift basis.
- Develop a technical understanding of mill processes and monitor team operations.
- Ensure efficient deployment and utilization of resources in the function through an effective system of operating and financial controls.
- Understand and execute the management policies for attaining the targets laid down and strict maintenance of quality in all spheres of activities.
- Coordinate the maintenance activities for Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation job.
- To provide guidelines for R & D activities
- To coordinate with Marketing Department for planning & execution and activity of orders.
- Identify and resolve safety issues with the team, participate in the mill safety committee, safety audits, and other mill safety processes and initiatives
Key leadership through this role will include the following:
- Development / communications of day-to-day practices to ensure the safe and efficient usage of paper manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Direction to foster an environment of successful process improvement initiatives.
- Development and achievement of budgetary goals to ensure the long-term profitability of the mills.
- Emphasis on employee development including training, mentoring and accountability programs.
- Participation with the Leadership Team to develop new plans and strategies for improving the production operations and profits for the overall organization.
