Head of Operations - Electromechanical

THE JOB :

Key responsibilities :

- Lead the Production Team comprising of Production, Production Planning & Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Engineering and Maintenance, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Purchase, Stores/Logistics, New Product -Development and Design implementation, Quality & Safety, HR/Industrial Relations. Quality and HR will also have direct reporting to the MD

- Revolutionize the plant with critical improvements by introducing up-to-date techniques and best practices to bring planning and flow to production aligned with the future planned capacity expansion and targeted production levels. Retain reasonable flexibility to meet ever changing consumer demand

- Coordinate for appropriate technology transfer, assimilation and implementation

- Plan and reorganize the plant, drive equipment expansions envisaged for on time delivery and with strategized layouts and structures to maximize efficiency

- Optimize use, cost and performance of external suppliers of materials and sub-suppliers of production processes to improve timeliness, reduce cost and waste and enhance production capabilities

- Control / minimize raw materials and WIP/FG inventories through effective supply and manufacturing management.

- Optimize the mix of on roll workforce and agency operatives to achieve the best efficiencies and least waste

- Personally involve, demonstrated leadership and achieve performance through his whole team, commit and deliver, with a culture of openness, transparency, collaboration, trust and ownership

- Ensure effective HR and timely recruitment activities, manage the shop floor union

- Create value, drive innovations and continuous manufacturing excellence

- Manage a healthy, cooperative and harmonious relationship with the CGMs, Sales and Finance Heads, internally, across the company and the Group

- Liaison with Government authorities, ensure statutory compliances

- Will be responsible for the plant profitability

THE CANDIDATE :

- BE Mechanical/Electrical/Production with 20-30 years experience

- Exposure to Electro-Mechanical / Engineering Industry

- Proven record in manufacturing excellence - continuous improvement to achieve higher output, lower costs and increased profits.

- Hands on experience of setting up / upgrading a plant - layout & efficiencies and managing project implement under tight time frames and within budget

- Work experience with MNC or dealt with MNC clients. -Has done global travel.

- 5+ years as head of complete manufacturing operations - 150+ units per day; 300cr+; avg / unit 85k

- Exposure to 5S, TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Low-Cost Automation



- Exposure to Quality Assurance Procedures with APQP, NPD, PPAP and Certifications like ISO 9001, 14000 and 18000

- Working knowledge of SAP

- Achieved zero defect / near zero defect

- Independent proactive growth-oriented change agent

- Good knowledge speak/understand of Marathi and Hindi is mandatory
