About Us

The India Urban Data Exchange (IUDX) is a transformative initiative of the Smart Cities Mission under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GoI, and is implemented within the Indian Institute of Science.

IUDX helps the cities to address complex urban challenges intelligently through the use of data, establish integrated development across various aspects of the urban sector and catapult them to the next stage of innovation. IUDX is a completely open-source and secure, data exchange platform and can be easily adopted across the digital ecosystem.

IUDX enables the easy and efficient exchange of data among disparate urban data silos in a controlled manner, by ensuring data privacy and security, in a cost-effective manner, and by being highly scalable.

We are looking for a Head of Operations to start at the earliest.

Duties and Responsibilities

Acting as a liaison between the organization and its stakeholders.

Document, implement and work to improve upon processes and procedures relating to the team member lifecycle.

Ensure that the team has a full understanding of operational processes and policies providing guidance, support and training when necessary.

Manage cost centres and financial distribution.

Prepare regular reports on implementation and expenses, including presentations to stakeholders with the team.

Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with company policies.

Support in preparing grant/project proposals to various funding agencies, including budgeting.

The Head of Operations will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the CEO and department heads.

Requirements and skills

The right candidate would possess the following skills.

Bachelor's or Masters's degree.

Relevant work experience of at least 5 years in a leadership role

Experience with MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically)

Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail

Being able to work with minimal supervision

Multi-tasking and serving as the point of contact for organisational troubleshooting.

Experience in grant proposal writing or implementation of academic projects is a plus.
