Head - Operations - Auto (13-18 yrs)

Roles and Responsibilities-

- Position reports directly to the Operations Leader. The position is responsible for creating a framework of operating system for achieving and sustaining the performance results from Order to cash. Drives Continuous Improvement at the site and/or regional level to affect business metrics and goals in an accelerated fashion.

- Member of the Client leadership team and responsible for creating the Client Vision and Strategy.

- Work with and influencing multi-site Leaders Plant Leadership and site and / regional client teams, ISC leadership team to understand what is going well and what needs improvement, suggest improvements in the framework and create and maintain the standards for the various Client elements.

- Keep a watch on the results, dive deep with the plants to understand the modes of failure, table it for the discussions to drive the improvements in standards.

- Create order to cash connectivity in the functional groups by evaluating the MOS, maturity diagnostics and results of the OTC validation process .

- Study and Benchmark the various standard tools available in the industry and propose the changes which are relevant to the TS.

- Drive consistency and standardization of operating system approach throughout SBE/SBU and SBG.

- Partner with client Process Leaders (Process and OD) to provide training and coaching, as appropriate, to client Lead Deployment Specialists, site client leaders, and client Specialists to develop and deploy tools, processes, and training needed to support client.

- Develop and deploy tools, processes, and training needed to implement the client Operating System.

- Clearly Articulate the standards, create and maintain the library of standards with references

- Coordinate for the changes to the client global website

- Create strategic alliances through the SBG organizations and client initiatives especially focusing on Software Excellence throughout company.

- Deliver all program level training such as Green Belt, DFSS, Expert and Master to employees and business leaders, including project mentoring and support

- Develop Six Sigma training material aligned with software development, Agile and CMMI.

- Coordinate Six Sigma knowledge retention and sharing of best practices

- Six Sigma Team's initiatives and continuous improvement

- Partner with Six Sigma Operations Team to ensure all employees meet Six Sigma training and certification requirements

This person will have to be a thought leader and sparring partner to client leader in reshaping the client principle and philosophy for an independent $3.5B corporation though extensive internal and external benchmark, participation to industry forum and research groups and deep interaction with the strategic vision of TS spin offollaborate with enabler teams (HR, HSE, Quality, Engineering, SIOP, VPD, and Sourcing/Procurement/Materials Management, etc) to ensure meaningful integration of the client Operating System.

Qualifications and key skill-

- Lean Expert Certified (Lean Master preferred)

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations Management preferred. Master's Degree a plus.

- 5-10 years progressive operational experience. Multiple cycles/assignments of learning in operations or functional area at manager, site leader or equivalent level.

- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in establishing the standards at corporate level

- Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and drive process excellence

- Demonstrated project management experience to manage multiple priorities in a highly matrixed organization

- Track record of achieving results in challenging assignments

- Excellent written communication skills, articulation of standards and processes

- Experience with Toyota Production System, Lean manufacturing or similar operating systems as an instructor

- Excellent communication skills with history of influencing multiple levels of the organization.

- Proven ability to assess the lean maturity level of the plants/business process

- Able to travel 30 % to assess standards across key locations

- Sig Sigma Black belt /master Black belt is preferred

- Ability to communicate across all the levels in the organization

- Knowledge of Business excellence systems
