Head/Officer - Public Policy

Role and Responsibilities :

- Keep a close watch on the activities of the regulators, legislators including RBI and NPCI that could affect the Company. Responsible for the Company's relations with policy makers, regulators, think tanks, industry bodies.

- Design, create and implement supporting strategies regarding the company's approach towards government relations and public policy, specifically in the financial sector.

- Improve the cooperation and synergy between the company and government bodies.

- Identify and link information for understanding and problem solving in a government affairs context, including political intelligence, substantive policy issues, and legislative and regulatory processes.

- Developing, coordinating, and maintaining a communications network with stakeholders throughout the company who have some involvement in public policy & gov. relation matters.

- Work collaboratively with the impacted business units in determining public policy positions.

- Lead analysis of proposed actions plans to mitigate negative impact from public policy activities

- Assist stakeholders with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to business and industry.

- Analyse and assess relevant state and local policies and trends and lead accurate, timely and insightful responses and analysis regarding various business projects and initiatives.

- Representing Company at various platforms like DLAI, IAMAI, other industry bodies etc.

Qualifications and Experience :

- 15 to 20 years of experience in the public policy and government affairs.

- Hold a minimum bachelor degree in public policy, law, political science, communication, social science or another relevant field. Master degree will be additional points.

- Experience working in think tanks, trade associations, government ministries or the legislature and executive branch will be a big plus.

- Experience synthesising, summarising, and presenting complex information in a way that provides clarity and interest

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations

- Demonstrated experience in building collaborative relationships with staff and peers

- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing small team

- Possess excellent problem solver skills, agility, curiosity and willingness to learn
