The Network Manager:
- Leads and directs a Network & Communications team and is responsible for the planning, design, engineering, testing, implementation, operation, extension, installation, repair, maintenance, improvement, and monitoring of a progressive, secure, and robust converged voice, video, and data network infrastructure.
- Provides technical leadership and expertise across LAN, WLAN, WAN, Unified Communications, and VPN operating environments supporting multiple centres as well as a mobile workforce
- Design, build and support modernized architecture and services including cloud services and SDN
- Drive modernization, automation, and optimization to continuously improve operational effectiveness, agility, performance, availability, and cost of the network services and staff
- Support modernized architecture and services including cloud services and SDN
- Manage the day-to-day workload and priorities of existing and new tasks, requests, and projects against available resources and expected service level agreements
- Develop wireless performance data, metrics, algorithms, and reports to measure and track client, exhibitor, attendee, and staff wireless experiences against service standards.
- Continuously assess, test, improve and document 24x7 monitoring network and security infrastructure including alarming, logs, and event management.
- Develop Network usage and security policy and maintain ongoing assessment of security environment and recommend solutions for safeguarding the internal and external networks
- Recognized Degree in Business IT or Computer Science related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- JNCIE or CCIE certified or equivalent network engineering expertise
- Familiarity with IT architectural frameworks and development methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- In-depth and substantive knowledge and experience in networking, security, and telecommunications infrastructure; maintenance procedures and equipment analysis; LAN/WAN/WLAN/VoIP using diverse transport protocols over copper, fibre optics, and wireless infrastructures; proven comprehensive knowledge of network and IT telecommunications concepts, principles, applications, system management, and design.
- 10+ years' experience with ITSM/ITIL best practices for complex, global IT organizations
- 5+ years of Project Management experience and proven track record in delivering complex projects
- Demonstrable experience and skills in performing cost analysis and justification of new technologies
- Demonstrable experience in using open source for building platforms
