Head - Model Risk Management/Validation - Mortgage Industry - ISI

Our client is one of the leading players in the Mortgage Industry, looking to hire seasoned Statistician with exposure to the US Financial Services Industry, Model Validation, Governance, Risk and compliance.

The job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Establishing and running a Model validation team

- Establishing pertinence and validity of existing models, sampling, control environment and output to the changing industry landscape

- Creating and maintaining detail documentation of models, run procedures and recovery procedures

- Performing model validations following guidelines, to include assessment of model usage, documentation, conceptual soundness, data integrity, the control environment, and the software environment

- Presenting work through formal model validation reports, as well as through presentations to model owners and senior management

- Evaluating model performance monitoring reports and conducting model annual reviews;

- Providing thought-leadership to our evolving model validation practices

- Overseeing validation projects performed by direct and indirect individual contributors

Functional Job Competencies:

- Ph.D. or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline, preferably statistics or applied math from Indian Statistical Institute

- 10+ years of work experience in quantitative modeling, primarily in the financial services industry

- Model validation experience following statutory guidelines, either as a model owner or validator

- Experience with high frequency decision models, especially as applied to mortgage servicing. Prior experience with US residential mortgage servicing/origination/reverse is a big plus
