Head - Manufacturing - Automotive Components Manufacturing Firm (16-22 yrs)

Business : Manufacturer of high-quality automotive components

We are hiring for our client, A large firm in to manufacturing of high-quality automotive components

Experience : 16+ years of experience with minimum 2 years in a Plant HOD role

Location : Surender Nagar, Gujarat

Qualification : BE or B.Tech with a Management Degree (MBA)

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB :

1. Operational Efficiency and Plant Performance Manage and closely track the overall cost of production at the plant including manpower cost, material cost, cost due to rejections and rework etc.

- Monitor and control the cost of rejection and rework for Press Shop and Weld Shop

- Undertake steps to improve manpower efficiency in press and weld shop

- Finalize the manufacturing budget and ensure adherence to the same

2. Customer Management Ensure timely and accurate resolutions to customer issues related to production and tooling

- Ensure timely supply of finished goods for PDI and dispatch to the internal departments

3. Production Planning Review and approve the production plan for Press Shop and Weld Shop and ensure alignment with the PPC plan

- Review the manpower requirements provided by the production heads and communicate the same to HR

4. Production Execution Review and ensure adherence to the finalized production plan for all products in Press and Weld Shop

- Review in-process quality of the products and ensure adherence to the agreed quality standards by the respective teams

5. PE & Tool Room activities Monitor all PE related activities at the plant including implementation of the product development & design modification related activities allocated by corporate, process management and any expansion related work

- Ensure effective maintenance of tools & fixtures and sufficient availability of spares

6. Business Excellence Drive improvement projects in production and PE & Tool Room, including customer projects as well as internal improvement initiatives

- Ensure total employee involvement in these projects

7. Labour Relations & Safety Manage the overall IR climate with regard to workers in production and tooling teams; Ensure timely awareness and action for managing any labour issues

8. Compliances & Standards Ensure that all legal and statutory compliances with regard to manufacturing teams are managed as per the required timelines

9. People Management Ensure adherence to capability development initiatives for department employees and drive ongoing skill enhancement

10. Drive employee engagement within the manufacturing team by monitoring attrition, employee satisfaction scores etc.
