Head - Logistics Operations - Cargo Movement - Rail & Road

The incumbent will be responsible for

- overall logistics operations (Rail & Road) centrally from HO and managing Operations catering to material movement from loading point to customer's end

- Proving tender inputs for tender qualification and resolution of all material handling issues and operational issues at customer end

- Supervising overall coal movement from coal siding to the TPS / Port,

- Ensuring desired quality of coal getting moved

- Controlling contractual obligations by way of proper loading

- Providing necessary support to operations team for coordinating with the washeries to get adequate despatch;

- Ensuring operation team gets silo loading to the maximum extent possible

- Monitoring and ensuring supplier payments in time

- Ensuring collection of all documents related to coal movement through the respective zonal OCs

- Providing support to team towards liaison with coal companies and zonal / divisional railways / Weighment /Quality control officials to cater to demand and supply as per linkage programme and act as an escalation points wherever needed

- Providing tender inputs on the operational cost

- Analysing and resolving logistics issues and significant gaps in supply vs demand of coal.

- Developing effective strategies in addressing theft/pilferage/en-route diversion/rake hold up/shortage control /weighment variances/coal grade & quality adherence and other associate risks associated with ground operations team based at Operation Centres and guide the team.

- Adhering contract specifications (scope of work) and commercial terms and conditions while providing logistics and liaising services to customer

- Controlling cost by implementing mechanisms to reduce penalty cost and other operations charges in the entire linkage for each contract.

- Ensuring adherence to safety compliance at coal loading/unloading points

- Creating necessary operation protocols, SOPs, guidelines, process templates in coordination with relevant stakeholders and implementing the same
