Head Logistics-Pan India-FMCG


- Responsible for PAN India operation of Inbound and outbound logistics by total fleet management to ensure stocks are delivered on time by adhering to legal requirements and compliance to statutory norms.

- Experience in Cold Chain Transportation

- Devise strategies by analyzing existing data to find cost-effective solutions to avoid bottlenecks

- To ensure optimal delivery by ascertaining the freight cost is achieved within Budgeted cost per Kilogram.

- To identify optimal transportation routes by consolidation of orders, warehousing and distribution.

- To empanel new vendors by effective negotiations for profitable deals

- To liaise with existing vendors & transporters for managing orders and traffic.

- To develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the transportation and to ensure that the executives train the transporters on the expected standards

- To ensure temperature control mechanism is installed and tracked in all empaneled vehicles for best customer service.

- To bring in process improvements for better truck utilization, by managing fill rate, TAT etc

- To ensure vehicles are loaded with minimum 95% of its capacity and that goods are delivered on D+1day with a minimum of 98% efficiency.

- To ensure the transporters acknowledgements are received, checked and trips are closed on time for proper records.

- To actively interface with Sales, Order Management teams to sort out day-to-day operational issues with an aim to enhance truck utilization.

- To adhere to logistics SOPs across warehouses and plants to ensure timely process of order delivery to the customers.

- Responsible to resolve all logistics related issues like delay in delivery, transit damage, accidents, deployment compliance and detention charges.

- Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing and make recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading and movement of materials.

- Maintain all mandatory requirements for vehicle like:

- Maintain Trip sheet of each vehicle as per the optimum agreed standards

- Ensure vehicles have complied to hardware compliance

- Ensure the transporters acknowledgements are received , checked and trips are closed on time

- Ensure timely collection of returns (Crates and return stocks from Customers)

- Ensure monitoring of freight cost on daily basis

- Ensure safety compliance of all the trucks are fixed and attached

- Ensure the stocks are delivered on time and intact to Customers

- Ensure optimization compliance of minimum 90%

- Ensure the L&D cost is managed within Budget

- Ensure GPS installed and tracked in all the vehicles (Reefer and Ambient)

- Ensure temperature control mechanism is installed and tracked in all Reefer vehicles (Both Primary and Secondary)

- Develop and review key performance indicators periodically to measure the effectiveness of teams and thereby to ensure high vehicle productivity

- Conduct meeting with major suppliers / vendors on a scheduled basis for effective engagement.

- To conduct periodic performance reviews with the team and suitably guide them for achieving the desired business results.

- Ensure continuous training & development of employees and are appropriately motivated to carry out their required responsibilities.

- Updated with market trends by effectively networking with internal / external stakeholders for driving efficiency through innovative process and systems.

- Responsible for motivating and developing team members for effectively delivering their responsibilities.

- Enable team members to perform better by providing timely feedback, conducting structured performance development reviews and setting clear KRAs and provide inputs for development.

- Keep up to date with latest developments / trends in the respective areas of work and recommend the same for improving performance / productivity / engagements levels.
