Head - Logistics - eCommerce

A leading player in rural e-commerce space HQ in Chennai in scale up mode.

The Role :

- Part of the management team, responsible for the end to end Logistics function driving operational excellence, continuous improvements, governance and reporting etc.

- Provide leadership and direction to the internal logistics team and the external service providers in line with the organisation growth plans.

Key deliverable include but not limited to the following :

- Establish strategic direction for distribution and logistics function.

- Set yearly goals, objectives, KPIs. Work with team to define and achieve key initiatives and yearly goals.

- Manage overall budget for logistics function.

- Drive key initiatives to support business growth.

- Seek synergies and best practices to develop and implement new methods to improve productivity and customer service.

- People development. Encourage and support a team environment.

- Create, foster and maintain an environment of cross-department collaboration, knowledge sharing/learning and support.

- Update practices in accordance with new or changing organisational / external policies, standards, regulations or laws.

Ideal person for the role :

- Graduate/ PG in Mgmt with about 8 to 12 years experience in Logistics function preferably in E Commerce space. Proven leadership abilities to manage a team and a end to end SCM processes.

- Good understanding of customer service function in rural space and complexities in managing the expectations involved in the same.

- Experience working and supporting multi channel customers preferred.

- Experienced in change management, culture development and developing people and teams. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in an ever changing environment.

- Tech savvy person who can contribute to the digitization and improvement of logistics function.
