Head - Liaison & Public Relations - NGO (25-28 yrs)

Our Client is looking for someone who can spearhead operations and activities for the Social organization. The individual will work in close proximity with the Chairperson and liaise with senior members of the government & other private institutions. S/he will also be responsible for PR & Communication-related activities amongst a host of other responsibilities in order to achieve the organization's mission.

They believe that providing accessible and barrier-free public infrastructure can help people with reduced mobility to live an active, safe, dignified life as contributing members of the nation while enjoying their world.

- They also help different government departments as well as corporate houses to incorporate accessibility as a non-negotiable component in their infrastructure and services. Svayam has contributed to the preparation of many guidelines i.e. the Harmonised Guidelines & Space Standards for Barrier-Free Built Environment for Persons with Disability and Elderly Persons, the National Building Code 2016, and the Civil Aviation Requirements for Carriage of Persons with Disabilities by Air, among others.

Primary Responsibilities include :

- Being a true evangelist of the organization's mission in providing dignity for individuals with reduced mobility.

- Draw strategic plans to meet the organization's objectives and create a Roadmap.

- Implement the strategic plan forging strategic collaborations & alliances

- Manage external agencies, partners & individuals deployed on execution

- Spearhead & influence policy framework with authorities to meet objectives

- Be a - Go to- person for the Chairperson

- Plan and monitor detailed PR strategies & campaigns and their execution.

- PR and reputation management of the organization & the Chairperson.

- Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics

- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media.

- Anticipate, prepare for and deal with the public relations aspects of unusual or crisis situations, and implement a crisis communication plan when the need arises.

- Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness

- Liaising with Senior government officials to ideate and develop policies.

Traits and characteristics :

- A dynamic leader with a dedicated focus on the delivery of quality services

- The candidate must have a genuine interest in the cause and in creating a more inclusive environment for the people affected.

- Ability to work effectively with or within the Social community in a high-pressure and high-visibility context.

- Experience in managing government projects; familiarity with government functionality and dealing with senior government officials.

- Must be a seasoned communicator, presenter & influencer.

- Experience in PR & Marketing communication.

Qualification & Experience requirements :

- Masters degree or higher, with keen interest and understanding of the social sector and public policy.

- At least 25 years of relevant professional experience in government, business, marketing, non-profit management or related areas.

- Individuals with High energy & drive with the ambition to make an impact.

- Experience in effectively managing a large/cross-cultural team.

- Strong knowledge and experience in project management coupled with demonstrated coordination ability.

- Considerable professional experience in the Government OR dealing with the Government in the social sector.

- Demonstrated the ability to manage a complex multi-stakeholder environment.

- Experience in integrating cross-cutting themes such as gender equality and diversity into objectives work plans and evaluations of results would be an asset.

- Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi.
