Legal Head - Pharma

Job Description for a Senior Position in Legal Department :

1. Reviewing and finalizing all legal documents related to Group and ensuring legal safety of the Group

2. Providing legal inputs in order to eliminate the risk of lawsuits

3. Handling lawsuits and arbitration matters

4. Developing and leading corporate compliance programs

5. Managing a team of members of legal department and directing them to take on different functions

6. Advising Group CFO, Head Legal & CS and other senior corporate officers on a variety of issues.

7. Ensuring regular updation and safe custody of legal data

8. Ensure that all legal formalities are fulfilled on time

9. May have to travel to different places in India to settle deals and attend lawsuits

10. Ensuring high level secrecy and confidentiality of legal data of the Group

11. Keeping track of the latest amendments and regulations in law

Skills and Specifications :

- Besides strong knowledge about law in general and corporate law in particular, the person will have to have very strong decision making and analytical skills

- Understand the business and the industry

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills

- Excellent observation skills

- Ability to think out of the box in order to solve legal complications

- must possess strong initiative, as well as excellent management and leadership skills and strong business acumen

Education and qualification :

- Masters in law with a minimum of ten years experience in handling legal matters including handling of legal contracts in pharmaceutical industry

- Bachelor in law with additional qualification as Associate / Fellow Member of Institute of Company Secretaries (ICSI) with a minimum of ten years experience in handling legal matters including handling of legal contracts in pharmaceutical industry.

- Bachelors in law with a minimum of fifteen years experience in handling legal matters including handling of legal contracts in pharmaceutical industry.
