Job Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive legal opinions in a timely manner and advise on all legal matters affecting the business and provide expert legal solutions to minimize risks involved in the business's operations
- Advising the management and the organization, providing timely, relevant council and inputs re- strategic and operating decisions
- Conduct diligent research into legal issues and recommend revisions as needed across a range of legal documents and agreements
- Responsible to develop and implement scalable policies as per business requirements
- Ensure the reliable and timely execution of the company's day- to- day legal activities
- Communicate with all internal and external stakeholders. Lead design discussions and drive constant improvement of documentation - aim for simplicity, ease of understanding, and quick turnaround times
- Anticipate and plan for all legal risks, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks;
- Responsible to take charge of execution requirements of organizational deals including interfacing, developing, and leveraging relationships with regulators, credit agencies other financial institutions, consultants, and other professionals to deliver best- in- class value, aligned with business
- Advise the leadership team on legal matters critical to the growth of the business, provide opinions and expert guidance to management on litigation matters
- Oversee the drafting, and vetting of contracts/ agreements/ legal documents and ensure the proper administration of executed contracts across all business units
- Develop networks with key law firms and lawyers for ensuring the best advice, build enforcement capabilities, as well as ensure the best economics
- Responsible for the effective and efficient legal support for business restructuring, contracts, documentation management, providing legal advisory services, and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks
- Ensure regulatory compliance with laws and regulations in force & provide opinions and expert guidance to management on litigation matters
Job Requirements:
Educational requirement - Degree in Law
- 10- 15 years of relevant experience working with private banks, law firms, NBFCs
- Should have experience in Indian lending operations for a large NBFC/Bank
- Have an excellent grasp of the law, pertaining to structured finance, retail finance, capital markets, equity raise, IBC, etc
- Drafting of various processes and standardization of templates
- Co- ordinating with external counsels for advisory and related matters
- Knowledge in drafting, vetting of deeds, collection handling, receivables, attachment of property, legal processes, etc
- Have impeccable integrity, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Good communication - written & verbal, solution- oriented, and able to understand business requirements
