Head - Legal - International Business - Conglomerate - LLB/LLM (12-20 yrs)

The incumbent will partner with business to ensure legal compliance for timely and cost effective roll out of projects within all available legal norms, for international locations and green field / brown field projects in overseas locations

1. Compliance for setting up and operations of projects in overseas operations:

- Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations with respect to company's operations.

- Liaise and co-ordinate with law offices in India and abroad to ensure company's best interest and non-violation of applicable laws.

- Ensuring compliance in respect of sanctions imposed under OFAC, US, UN and European Sanctions

2. Litigation

- Assessing risks of litigation: Provide management with an early concise evaluation of the risks and costs involved thereby improving the ability of BU to make informed decisions

- Planning tactics to curb risk and minimize fallout

- Counsel Management

- Strong Defence in each case of overseas

3. Product Liability and product re-call related issues in each market

4. Tracking changes in laws in overseas markets

- Conduct legal research on a diverse range of assigned issues in international law

- Keep abreast of new laws, rules and regulations that impact business operations including double taxation avoidance treaties , automobile policies of each country.

- Analyze information and present findings for internal review

5. Contractual support- Deals

- Review, prepare and advise on agreements governing the relationship of the company with agencies

- Effective negotiation on all deals and transactions to ensure mutually beneficial terms with agencies

6. International Subsidiary monitoring

- Advise and process requirements with regulatory authorities pertaining to subsidiaries to be established or already established by the company

7. Standardization of legal documents and timely renewal of all contracts across all overseas locations with all channel partners.

8. Optimising Supply chain and taxes

- Liaise with various functions and identify the best possible ways to minimize total production, inventory and transportation costs based on business needs for assembly projects.

9. New Ventures

- Support IB mergers & Acquisitions & Due Diligence of markets and Dealers

- Setup of International branches & Subsidiaries/JV's

Qualifications & Requirements:

LLB/LLM with 12+ years of experience in International Legal/Arbitration/Mergers/JVs etc.
