Head - Legal - Healthcare/FMCG/Pharma (8-15 yrs)

Legal : 

- Handle a variety of general corporate and transactional matters, including drafting, review and negotiation of contracts and supporting intellectual property related matters

- Providing timely and effective commercial and legal advice, highlighting legal risks and working with internal functional teams to find constructive solutions to meet the objectives of the business whilst managing legal risks

- Effective and efficient management and resolution of disputes

- Evaluate the activities, policies, practices and transactions of Valeants

- India business to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations

- Supervising external counsel and monitoring billing guidelines/fees

- Support Mergers & Acquisition and Divestment initiatives

Compliance : 

- Work closely with country and regional stakeholders to ensure Valeant's compliance policies are implemented and maintained

- Ensure a continued emphasis on maintaining a strong corporate governance culture, maintaining good and transparent relations with all key stakeholders, both internal and external

- Contribute to the development of country specific compliance policies and procedures and code of conduct; conduct compliance trainings and maintaining training records

- Conduct periodic reviews and tests to ensure all areas of the business are operating in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures, and work with regional Compliance team to implement remediation plans where necessary

- Advise country management and functional leaders on new/ proposed legislation, implement sensible changes to Valeant's compliance program to comply with new regulatory requirements and/ legislation

- Participate in compliance review of potential business acquisitions in the region; work with regional Compliance team to design and implement compliance programs during integration of acquired business

- Work with country, regional and corporate stakeholders in respect of Compliance hotline investigations

- Develop and conduct internal training and information sessions
