Head - Landscape Architect - Design Firm

Our Client is an international design firm practicing driven by the pursuit of quality in all areas of design. The client believes the relationship between a building and its setting is critical for the success of any project. They are looking to develop more landscape skills in-house and offer the opportunity for a talented Head landscape architect to work on projects in Gurgaon & Mumbai offices.

Responsibilities:

- Take a lead on the design of both hard and soft landscape for architectural and urban design projects and competitions

- Work closely with design groups and external landscape consultants to support project teams in creating sustainable landscape designs

- Promote good landscape design throughout the practice

- Research and advice on indigenous/suitable vegetation on projects around the world

- Support the design teams through the research into project specific landscape design issues

Contribute, or otherwise assist, as required

- Thorough knowledge of and compliance with client's procedures and standards

- Manage Urban Design, Master Planning, Streetscape, and Landscape Projects

- Prepare and develop Urban Design and Master Plan drawings, reports and strategies

- Prepare and develop Hard and Soft Landscape Designs

- Ability to prepare for and present to a variety of audiences and in web forums

Qualities & Skills required

- Extensive post-graduate experience in landscape architecture, including design, construction, maintenance & contract administration

- Experience in preparation of landscape design documentation (concept & construction drawings, and specifications) covering streetscape, recreation facilities, park, and land type projects

- Engagement and management of consultants

- Hands-on involvement in construction projects ( either in project management, construction management, quality control or contract administration)

- Liaison with government and public utility agencies, regarding approvals or infrastructure adjustments

- Understanding of development control processes

Educational Requirements

- B.Arch. degree with Masters/Diploma with 15 years plus experience in Landscape Design or Urban Planning or Urban Design

- Able to build a good relationship at all levels, internally and externally

- Strong graphic and presentation skills in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, Adobe Suite skills preferred

- Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work effectively under pressure while remaining calm and professional at all times
