Reporting to Functional Head - Strategic Project Management and OE

1. Purpose

Responsible for developing new innovative solutions/products/features/services catering to the fast evolving demands of customers by understanding current market trends, customer needs, competitor offerings and global best practices to enable the company to stay ahead of the market and serve customers with best-in-class product offerings and solutions

3. Experience/skill requirements

- Candidate must have experience and exposure to logistics market in India or overseas, strategic operations role at Logistics Organization or Etail Organization with exposure to strategic planning and innovations

- Knowledge and understanding of e-tail market, evolving customer needs and customer contacts in industry

- Competency to drive strategic innovations development focused on consumer needs, ability to think innovatively beyond current market offerings

- Team leadership and project management experience - experience of having led a team and managed stakeholders to drive business execution

- People oriented - having demonstrated strong inter personal & negotiations skills in previous assignments

- Ability to drive and influence conversations with senior customers and internal leadership

- Driven, result focused with excellent oral and written communication skills

- Well-developed entrepreneurial sense and strong network building skills

4. Key Responsibilities

Strategic

- Drive generation of ideas on new product/service development to serve evolving needs of customers

- Collaborate with the sales, operations to identify products, segments or regions showing strong growths and profits and jointly develop product/service offering to leverage the same

- Strategically filter ideas to arrive at smaller set of ideas that can be conceptualized in detail - incorporate IT/tech, operational process changes to build out concept in detail

- Present idea concepts to committee of senior management to seek approval of product idea pilot and subsequently roll-out

- Serve as a pivotal member of the PMO-OE team responsible for formulation of the overall innovations portfolio

- Responsible for identification of opportunities/ requirements for strategic tie -ups, joint ventures or any other acquisitions, etc. in line with product development process

- Establish and maintain alliances with various industry forums in India

Financial

- Lead financial analysis of new product with analyst in team- viability analysis, product profitability, business case building for product, NPV analysis etc.to ascertain that product is NPV positive for business in long term

- Track, monitor and analyze product performance once rolled out and handed over to business; suggest interventions as required in initial years

Operational

- Collaborate with operations and business team to execute product pilots and full-scale roll-out once approved by committee

People

- Provide direction, guidance and support to IDL team members across multiple initiatives/ideas in different stages of development

- Collaborate with the business teams and manage multiple stakeholders to ensure product development incorporates all inputs and needs felt within organization and full scale roll-out of initiatives is successful

- Monitor the performance of the team on a continuous basis to identify key performers

- Mentor and coach innovation projects to develop capabilities and build a robust pipeline

- Ensure high level of engagement and retention of key performers
