Head - Information Technology - Paper & Chemicals Business (14-27 yrs)

At present we are having an opening for CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO) for a reputed company into paper and chemicals based out of their CORPORATE OFFICE in KOLKATA location

Reports to - MD & CEO

- The company is a of a renowned business conglomerate which has had a significant role to play in nation-building for over 200 Yrs in areas of #technology, #automotiveindustry, #homebuilding, #papermills #healthcareindustry & #education. It has a history of 86 Years and standing strong when the average age of S&P 500 companies today is less than 18 years!

Job purpose

The CIO will be responsible for developing the technology strategy of the organization which includes strategy design, development, implementation and management. Set the organizations technical vision and leading company's technological development, partnerships and external relationships.

Core Responsibilities

- Develop and implement technology strategy: The CIO will work with senior management to develop a technology strategy that supports the company's overall business goals. This may include implementing new technologies, upgrading existing systems, and ensuring the company's technology infrastructure is secure and reliable.

- Manage IT department: The CIO will manage the IT department, including hiring, training, and supervising staff. They will also address the department's budget and ensure all technology projects are completed on time and within budget.

- Ensure technology infrastructure is secure: The CIO will be responsible for ensuring the security of the company's technology infrastructure, including its networks, systems, and data. This will involve implementing security measures such as firewalls, encryption, and access controls.


- Stay up-to-date with technology trends: The CIO will be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements and determining how they can be applied to the company's operations. They will also evaluate new technology solutions and make recommendations to senior management.

- Collaborate with other departments: The CIO will work closely with other departments, such as marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with their needs and goals. They will also ensure that technology projects are integrated with the company's overall business strategy.

- Communicate with stakeholders: The CIO will communicate with senior management, employees, and customers, to ensure they understand the company's technology strategy and how it supports the business.

- Manage vendor relationships: The CIO will be responsible for managing relationships with technology vendors, including negotiating contracts and ensuring that vendors deliver the products and services they promised.

- Create strategic roadmap for information technology at group level and develop effective governance structure to measure and monitor the outcome of the strategic initiatives.

- Develop IT consolidation roadmap across HO and Unit to bring down total cost of ownership, improve manageability and information security.

- Design, develop and implement IT solutions for executing the strategic and operational plans of the business on SAP (SAP -Hana), ERP and Microsoft platforms.

- Deployment of various digital initiatives in commercial functions like Purchase, Finance, HR etc. to eliminated paper work and give a digital platform for users.

- Responsible for redefining IT organization structure to introduce customer orientated service to information technology users and enable IT teams with knowledge on new information technology platforms.

- Service delivery and support - this includes managing the data center and network operation center, enterprise software, application software and other IT Infrastructure.

- Instituting design, creation and implementation of IT & Systems, drive the entire project management activities including hardware/networking projects its requirement gathering, analysis and final execution of projects in association with dedicated project team members.

- Manage systems development, deployment and operations. Define and implement all infrastructures. Manage all internal and outsourced projects within approved budgets, third party integration reviews.

- Managing all enterprise-wide IT infrastructure, across locations

- Regular meetings with user leadership team for understanding pain areas and resolutions, feedback about IT to improve continuously and to map any new requirement.

- Cloud hosting - AWS, SaaS based deployments, API's VAPT, Cyber security, top controls, CERT-IN compliances, audits with Big4 and others, overall IT Infrastructure ownership across locations, complete ownership of cybersecurity tools, vendor management.

- Setup against cyber threats, IT disaster recovery program with suited backups, good understanding of security control frameworks

- Ensuring 99.99 percent uptime for business applications, creating timely downtime in a planned manner

Essential Educational Qualifications:

- Degree in the field of computer science, business administration with a major in information technology. An advanced degree in one of these fields is a plus.

- Experience in SAP (SAP-Hana) is a must.
