Head - Information Technology - Chemical

Role Summary :

1. Overseeing all information technology operations and evaluating them according to business goals in the immediate, mid and longer term

2. Proposing, Devising and establishing IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by top management

3. Analysing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs and recommending cost effective solutions

4. Identifying and managing external vendors to maintain cost effective high service levels

Key Responsibilities :

1. Oversee all information technology operations (including IT Infrastructure - hardware, networking and software, IT Security at various levels) and evaluate them according to established business goals

2. Prepare Technical design for IT infrastructure and its implementation policy

3. Prepare IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management

4. Ensure IT security in compliance with industry best practices

5. Ensure legal compliance related to the use of IT Infrastructure and software

6. Prepare and implement Disaster Recovery Plan

7. Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs

8. Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software

9. Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency

10. Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to top management

11. Manage and guide IT Team including external vendors to function effectively

12. Prepare business case for IT expenses & Control IT budget and report on expenditure

13. Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts

14. Maintain complete documentation of IT assets, processes and policies

Requirements :

1. Proven experience as IT Head or similar role in a multi-location organization (could also be a number 2 with a strategic approach)

2. Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications

3. Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks and security.

4. Experience in preparing and controlling information technology budget

5. Excellent organizational and leadership skills

6. Excellent communication abilities

7. BSc/BE in Computer Science/IT or relevant field
