Role: Director of Human Resources

Reporting to : Oil and Gas Services Managing Director dotted line to Division VP HR

Work location : Dubai, UAE

Department : Executive Team

Business Need / Purpose of role :

A strategic Human Resources Partner for the Oil and Gas Services business units, which currently operates throughout the Middle East, Caspian and UK regions.

Provides proactive support and oversight of all human resources functions and programs throughout the service and manufacturing locations as well as sales facilities.

Serves as a member of the executive team in managing growing businesses of service, manufacturing, operational and maintenance contracts of oil field equipment with annual revenues over $250 million and over 1,200 employees.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities : (results this role is expected to accomplish) :

- Provides proactive human resources business partner support to executives, managers and employees through effective human resources programs including: talent management, succession planning, training and organization development, staffing, compensation, performance management, legal compliance, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and retention using best practices and adapting to various regional practices.

- Delivery of some human resources support in some locations is provided through a Shared Services arrangement.

- Provides advice and counsel on a full range of human resources issues and develops appropriate human resources solutions to meet the needs of the business. Understands the market practices and legal requirements in the various regions which the business operates.

- Provides functional leadership to human resources leaders situated in the various facilities of the overall business.

- Continues to develop the human resources team to increase the capability and strategic value of the human resource function through high levels of performance and customer service.

- Provides continued growth, development and implementation of strategies to work in concert with other members of the executive team in support of the growth plans of the business.

- Assists the Managing Director in developing the organization and capabilities of the leadership team and employee base to support the needs of a growing business. Acts as a key advisor to the Managing Director and other key senior leaders.

- Takes a strategic approach and thinking while balancing the need to get hands on in performing day to day operational work demonstrating willingness for both.

- Develops innovative programs to identify, attract, develop and retain key talent in order to meet the needs of the business.

- Active force in moving the organization to be an employer of choice, including diversity and inclusion programs. Provides a communication and employee engagement vision and programs for the company.

- Ensures the compensation and benefits programs are appropriate relative to our markets.

- Influences at all levels of the organization and develops strong working relationships with managers taking a proactive approach in addressing issues.

- Participates in merger and acquisition initiatives as part of the business growth. Effectively integrates new businesses

- Position is based in Dubai, UAE. Willing to travel to support the business with travel ranging from 25% to 50% depending on business needs and integration activities. This may include traveling to disturbed territories after appropriate security measures are in place.

Capable of being considered as a succession candidate for larger HR roles in the broader Group organization.

Person Specification : Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications / Personal Attributes:

Education:

- University Degree Required in Human Resources or related field. MBA a plus.

- Professional certification preferred.

Experience:

- 10-15 years of experience in progressively responsible human resource leadership roles.

- Proven track record of being a valued Human Resources Partner.

- Leading the human resources function for a large multiple location multinational industrial business including aftermarket service.

- Middle East experience preferred.

- Merger and acquisition experience also preferred

- International experience is mandatory

- Strong personal values and high standards demonstrated on the job.

- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Physical Requirements :

- This is primarily an office based role with travel required to field locations requiring the use of personal protective equipment. Very limited lifting requirements (less than 10 pounds).
