Head - Human Resources - NGO (12-20 yrs)
The role is with an established International NGO with a strong Indian presence.
Job Description:
- To develop and implement effective transactional & transformational HR strategies that deliver a consistent, value based and seamless HR vision across India.
- Responsible for building an organizational culture reflecting Company's core values, mission and vision including gender sensitive work policies and environment.
- Responsible to build and maintain high quality, motivated, Talent demonstrating that demonstrate Core Organizational competencies at all levels (- Right Fit- ).
- Ensure Formalisation and implementation of HR policies & process that are market relevant and reflect organisational priorities.
- To provide leadership to the Organisational Strategy formulation & implementation while working in close conjuncture with the SLT & the CEO
- To spearhead, with the SLT, successful change and development initiatives.
- Coordination with International set-up and working closely with the International HR group, synergy of policies
Key Result Areas:
Human Resources Strategy
- To lead formalisation, implementation and monitoring of Gender equality based human resource strategies.
- To provide and implement an effective employment framework that promotes the Company as an Employer of Choice and complies with legislation.
- To develop and implement of standards and procedures. While ensuring that they are adequately communicated, practiced, and monitored at HQ, States and Hubs
Talent Management
- To take the lead in formalisation of Learning as well as talent development agendas.
- Develop the Talent Management Framework with an eye on equal Gender representation at the leadership level.
- Innovative approaches to addressing talent needs and requirements across various projects
- To ensure that performance management policies and processes are in line with organisational priorities, values, and are gender responsive.
- To act as the subject matter expert for Human Resource Best practices while hand holding program implementation & operations teams.
Organisational development
- To develop and maintain effective staff engagement, and communication strategies.
- With the SLT, to lead on a programme of change that will include changes in structure, programme delivery and Organisational culture
- To develop and lead specific need based organisational development initiatives.
- To spearhead company's India surge capacity for Humanitarian Response by development and maintenance of Rosters, and appropriate strategies for capacity building of the Emergency Response teams.
Team Management
- To build, Monitor and develop an effective team through high quality performance driven interventions including but not limited to KPI setup, mentorship, Feedback, Counselling and disciplinary actions at India HQ & Regional offices (HUBS)
- Ensure that all HR team members work in a cohesive and collaborative manner in order to deliver excellent HR & OD services to the organisation.
Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Degree (ideally) in Social Work or else in HR
- Minimum 12 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in leading teams at a senior level
- Experience of leading organizational development in a period of change
- Experience of working in a large and matrix organisation with distributed teams and stake holders.
- Experience of working in Internal Organisations active in the social sector would be an added advantage
